Wiretap: Carney

Post#1 » by C.lupus » Thu Nov 20, 2008 6:47 pm

The club even agreed to continue to pay Booth's salary and about two-thirds of Carney's salary.

I didn't know that Philly was paying Booth's salary and most of Carney's, too. Makes the deal even better for Minny.

Id like to see him get a 10 game string of consistant playing time. Just to see what we've got.

I'd like to see some Carney, too. I just don't know at this point who's minutes he would get. Gomes? Brewer? Miller? McCants?

I would like to see Carney too, but we are complaining about 11 man rotations... We can't have our cake and eat it too. Maybe Pie, but not cake.

I'd prefer pie, I don't like cake.

I'm not saying we should play everybody equally, but I hope Wittman is at least aware that we're getting pretty lousy production from the 2/3 spots and giving a guy like Carney a shot couldn't hurt. Maybe he'll fall flat, but maybe he'll catch fire. We'll never know if he doesn't get any time.

Especially with Love on the court, Carney seems like he knows what to do with the ball in the open court.
I'm definitely interested in a Love/Smith/Carney/McCants/Telfair lineup off the bench, see if we can get some chemistry with that lineup, because they seem like they'd compliment eachother decently and would be dangerous if they can get out and run.

After last night's game, I don't see why Cookie doesn't get some burn at the point? The man dished out 5 dimes.

and he had this look on his face like "thats what I do"

Cookie is going to pull a reverse Magic Johnson in the finals. Foye and Telfair will do down with injury and for one night we will start Cookie at PG and he will carry us to a title.

We need to re-sign Richard so we can put out an all-6'9" team on the floor:

PG=Cookie
SG=Love
SF=Madsen
PF=Jefferson
C=Richard

Talk about matchup probelems for the other team!

Yeah, but so are Love, Madsen, and Jefferson. The main problem is that Smith can play like this only once every 60 games... so there's one more chance this year, but only one chance total next year.

Cookie was born to be a point guard. That line-up destroys all.
