Do you even follow the Red Sox??? ^^That statement leads me to believe either the answer is no, or yes but not that closely...

There was an almost audible sigh of relief from the entire TEAM once Manny was dumped this season...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

yes without Manny they could then lose in peace.

With Manny they would have won another world series, and lots of players would be mad (read: jealous) at him because of his Rockstar status, blaming him for not running out one ground ball, meanwhile he's hitting better then anyone on the team.

Do you even know what his stats were the month he was traded ?

Manny was on a tear, meanwhile the Boston media's reporting he's a "quitter" and "doesn't want to play" cos he sat out 1 game and struck out one time looking, lolol.

At the time he was traded, for that month he was the best Red Sox player, produced the most, had great throws off the wall into 2nd, probably had the most outfield assists in addition to best offensive production in the month he was traded.

you pay attention to the media's lies, I pay attention the facts.

The fact is ManRam had too much swag for red sox fans (who are different then Celtics fans), alot of very conservative red sox fans and their ownership/management were intimidated by Manny's flamboyant Rockstar Status, their loss.

^^I agree we probably would have had an easier go of it with Manny...but still, would it have been worth it for all the aggravation? The guy seemed to be losing his **** mind in his last weeks with the Sox...

I think in the long run the Sox will do better without Manny than Manny will do without the Sox...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Not to continue to bring baseball into basketball but it relates. Whatever went on with Manny the reality is the Red Sox did an awful job of handling their business with him from the minute they bought that team. They had embarassed the guy publicly for years, deserved or not. They had to handle this option year situation another way than letting it just hang in the air. They backed him into a corner and unless they were simply trying to make him shoot his way out of town then it was a pretty silly plan.

The Knicks are doing something simliar with Marbury in that they are making the last guy in the world you think they could into some sort of martar. Obviously maybe he is possibly going to be in some sort of trade and that is why they are holding on to him but if that is the case then let him go home or something the current situations is just a joke.

*IF* we snag him...all the power PLUS great defense, minus the horrid "teammate" attitude...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
