Trade Rumors for Sac?

Post#1 » by Nicky Nix Nook » Sat Nov 22, 2008 12:12 am

Just wanted to see if there were any trade rumors for the Kings. I would really like to trade Miller, do you think that's going to happen? Or are we just ride this team until 2010?

I really don't see ANYTHING happening this season - unless it is a Pau type of knock your socks off deal by a team that is wanting to put it in the tank for a high 2010 draft pick to go with the capspace. There is really no reason to do anything right now anyway. With the injuries, the younger guys are getting a nice chance to play value NBA minutes when it counts and garner experience against the #1 guys of the league instead of garbage time in blowouts.

^^I think it is highly likely that Miller is gone by the trade deadline. At the very lease he will be shopped heavily.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

I agree. I don't see how he wouldn't be traded by that time. But if for some reason he isn't, you can bet your life on the fact that he will be gone in the offseason.

^^Eddy Curry kills the deal with his $20M in player options (which he will certainly exercise) that will take his contract to 2011. Kings are already paying Kenny Thomas a lot of money to not play, Curry will just add a lot more to that category.

Don't want Curry and Don't want Lee.

Lee is a 4th-6th option on a contending team. We have plenty of those, all who are much cheaper than Lee as well. The only way the King's take on more salary is if we are able to obtain a number 1 option (either current player or draft), this trade doesn't do that.

Brad Miller for AL Harrington was a good idea.

No it wasn't. That would have done absolutely nothing for us.

I really doubt Chicago does it, and with the way he's playing right now, and the contract he got, I'm not sure I'm willing to make that gamble.

I hope Brad finishes his career as a King. That said, Memphis is looking for shooters. So one trade idea could be Brad and Quincy for Javaris Crittenton, Hakim Warrick and Marc Gasol.

PS Lets add Houston's first rounder in 09:)

Simplify it...

Douby for Crittenten straight up.
Grizz get there shooter.
Kings get more youthful backcourt depth.

C: Miller, Hawes, Williams
PF: Moore, Thompson, Thomas
SF: Salmons, Garcia, Greene
SG: Martin, Jackson
PG: Beno, Brown, Crittenten

With Memphis rebuilding, I find it hard to believe they would trade young talent for Miller.
