Best Contender for Vince Carter

Post#1 » by AndrewI » Sat Nov 22, 2008 6:46 am

Today was a very busy day in player movement in the NBA... And whenever that happens, us the fans, we run our little fantasy GM schemes in our minds; wondering what move would put my team in a better position for the playoffs...

Some teams are in making Cap space moves, others are in Win now mode, others are in rebuilding mode... Now these 3 situations sparked a little «mmmh I wonder» moment in my mind; especially after reading on the board that the Hornets feel like they are missing a player that can create his own shot...

And that little «mmh I wonder» ignited a sudden interest in a trade that would send Vince Carter to the Hornets. Now if we're looking at the Line up
C. Chandler
PF. West
SF. Stojakovic
SG. Peterson
PG. Paul
We have a team of experts at what they do and a «chef d'orchestre» or a maestro in CP3. If Paul goes down with an injury, the hornets are pretty much like ingredients to make a nice dish all there seperately and but with no chef in the kitchen to cook...

I love Peja but in my little fantasy GM brainstorming it seems to me that the Hornets are in a Win now mode. The Nets : Cap Space and rebuilding mode. Carter is a great player, a veteran that would fit nicely to a contender like NO. As a matter of fact, NO is the best match for Carter, especially with Paul.

In my crazy mind I would love to imagine this trade:
Peja + 2nd round draft pick for Carter
or Peja + Rasual for Vince + Ager (which we could waive later to sign a Big free Agent)

Then Sign a Bigman to help out and guess who ????
Antonio Mcdyess

That would give us a very nice roster
C. Chandler
F. West
F. Posey
G. Carter
G. Paul
---------------------
F. McDyess
F. Peterson
G. Brown
G. James
F. Wright
C. Hamilton

But then again that was in my fantasy GM of mind playing a little NBA Live tonight....
