So our two savior plays were to go with Felts on a drive when we are down by three and then get Ammo a contested 3 when he's been gun shy all night?

Shannon did play well. No more 3 pointers though.

I'm thinking Slam meant "why would you let Felton shoot a shot that mattered so much."

He did that last night and killed us too.

agree 100% I was being sarcastic! The fact that Ray is our SG is pathetic

they wanted a quick two. felton got the inbound. if you watched the play, they wanted to go to dj but he didn't get open. felton looked liked the second option.

you guys crack me up. you don't hesitate to throw felton under a bus but dj can heave up bricks at will.

dj had an ok game tonight. felton wasn't that far from a triple double (a board and 3 steals). neither of them shot the ball well but felton figured out how to add value in other places. its a shame you guys don't notice that.

our go to guy is hurt. and yes, we do really suck. mek has no help and because of it we don't get a lot of the second chance points that we give up.

i wish wallace got the ball instead of felts. he at least seems to have a knack for a clutch shot.

Actually LB noticed and spoke very highly of Ray after the game....

There was time on the clock, so if the best we could come up with for our second option after "have the rookie save us" was "have the guy who's FG% at the rim for his career is around 43% luck one in", then we're worse than I thought.

Ray set a career high in steals tonight, way to go Raymond!! He plays great man defense when he wants to as well. If DJ can heave up bricks at will though, what is it that Felton's doing when he shoots?

I've written it before, but here it is again. For Raymond to have a long term role with the team he needs to shoot less than 10 times a game and concentrate on defending his man and assisting his teammates. It's time he decides to make the game easier for his teammates and push his ego aside--the days of playing hero are over.

So Ray has to shoot less than 10x but DJ can do it (they have basically the same FG percentage)? I agree, Ray needs to shoot less but someone has to do something. You were arguing that we need a SG. Ray isn't supposed to be that (obviously) but he's been put there and someone needs to make something happen. Also, a lot of Ray's shots end up being shot clock beaters because the offense isn't clicking. DJ doesn't have that problem because he doesn't try to set up the offense.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. DJ has been playing better on offense and that's great. However, Felton has been playing a much better overall game but the haters on this board don't seem to notice that. Why? Got me. For those who would argue that DJ is rookie and should be cut some slack, I disagree. Until we throw in the towel, you play the players that help you win now. At this rate, we'll throw in the towel next week and then you turn the team over to DJ, no question.

Just a quick note... I'm sure that FFP is right, we are much more ready to embrace the new guy and hate on Felton, but that doesn't make us wrong to do so. DJ and Ray don't shoot "basically the same FG%" Well, they do, but not if you adjust for the fact that DJ takes (and makes) way more 3pters and also makes more of his FTs (they get to the line about the same amount). In eFG% Ray is shooting .414, Augustin .458, in TS% Ray .470, Augustin .518. (To put it in last year's terms, that's the difference between Josh Smith and Larry Hughes)

I'll wait for 82games to update with the last 2 games of data (both of which will help Felton), but right now we're actually a better team with Augustin on the court and Felton not. We'll see if that holds up.

Valid points. I will concede that we are a better offensive team with DJ right now but I do not agree that we are a better overall team with him instead of Felton. Time may change that. What I really want is both of them play better on both ends.

notes from the rafters

its been a long time since i've seen ammo that gunshy. he absolutely would not shoot unless there was no time on the shot clock. strange. does he just have night where he knows his shot is so off that it wont go in. i've never seen a player whose confidence wavered so much from game to game.

two games in a row felton has played lights out defense. if all else fails at least we know we have a really good defender at back pg/combo guard.

i really am starting to like shannon. that block was NASTY. yeah, dude is a black hole, but sometimes we need a go who is just ready to put the ball in the hole. i think LB will turn him into a very good defender with time.

cowbell lady is back

that was the worst saturday night crowd i've ever seen.

i bought a $7 bobcats santa hat. something i can wear to the office for the next month. holla. especially now that, in a sign of ammo solidarity, i cut the mop and now rock the buzz cut. you with me steve?

okafor could have had 30 last night. that last missed layup was a killer. EO doesnt fight hard enough for low post position. i want to see him pick up a few fouls because he was battling down low for a spot on offense.

jinx looked a but lost last night.

they brought may a bike to the tunnel so he can ride and watch the games. how nice.

even from the nosebleeds steph was looking hot in the pink jacket.

He looks like he has freakishly long arms. He he could finish better at the rim he would be a real steal (story of this teams life!!) because he has no trouble getting there. He just seems to rush it sometimes.

It actually didn't look that way on the TV. I thought his D was pretty good and while he looked for his own shot, the shots he took were ok (except for one that I thought he rushed and put up too quickly). I'd like to get him some looks down low and let him shoot some fade aways.

They should tie a pizza to a stick, attach the stick to his head and dangle the pizza just out of reach.

Before too long he'd be better than Lance Armstrong.
