This makes no sense, they lost to another SEC team. Had they lost an out of conference game, then it'd made sense. But the fact that Ole Miss has beaten FL, LSU, and given trouble to Bama(I think or maybe Georgia) just shows the toughness of the SEC,

You are right though, SEC is so overrated. They only have the last 2 national champions, the last Heisman winner, and 2 teams in the top 4. VERY OVERRATED

I think 15th will be very generous (too generous). I think 17/18 is more probable given how others in the 15-20 range fared. I'm thrilled (somewhat shocked) with the win. But it was a bit of an ugly win. Granted OSU was missing their starting QB and lost Quizz early to a shoulder injury. But our defense just made too many mistakes for me to be real happy about the win.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

alright, i guess some of you need visual proof. kinda like flash cards during the middle of an exam.

They show the standings on ESPN and talk about who each team has beaten....what do they show for the opponents' rankings?

They show the rankings at the time that they beat the opponent...i.e. UF beating a #4 LSU and #6 UGA?????? They show floridas opponents at the time they beat them. But all of you would agree, LSU isn't even at top 40 team and UGA is barely top 25.

nevertheless, the media outlets are not overrating that conference. ohio state? oregon state? early losses but are heatin up at the right time of the year.

USC on the other hand, loses early, but cant even scratch the surface of the top 5???

USC is the victim of conference he plays in. as long as records are identical, in most cases teams in tougher conferences gets the upper hand. at the end you can try to discredit UF s victories as much as you can, but despite their mediocre performance s,UGA, LSU and even South Carolina would finish in top-3 in pac-10 and UF blew those teams out. on the flip side, USC is yet to beat a quality team since beating OSU second week of the season(and no Oregon is not a quality team despite being ranked for some reason)

i can t claim USC wouldnt have shown the same performance if they were in SEC, but we ll never know that.

lsu was down 30 at home to troy. this is a down year for the pac, but i don't think lsu finishes top 3. with the way they've been playing recently they'd be 5-4 at best. south carolina? uh huh. maybe in the big10.

USC has no impressive victories after their loss. Why is this so hard to understand? It is hard to impress people when you beat up on bad teams.

Example, UF beat up on a bad team last night, don't expect them to move up, ifanything, they could even move down.

"impressive" victories? oh boy, is that what weve boiled it down to. impressive, showing off, dog show type wins. place my team on the field with any of those teams, and those teams will be terrified by the impressive TROJAN POWER that shows up in pre-game alone.

Ok Lake. Let's look at this.

Assuming both USC and FL win out, After their 1 loss Fl would have beaten 2 top 10 teams, one of them the only undefeated standing and #1 in the country.

Look at USC's schedule after their 1 loss? Nothing but a cake walk and they even struggled on a couple of games.

Another example, Fl won yesterday by 50 points against a bad team, let's suppose USC won by 40 against Penn State yesterday. USC would jump FL. I would not have a problem with it. I don't see why that is so hard to understand. You keep talking about USC going down 2 spots after a victory. What do you expect? Fl beat the #6 team by 40+ points on a neutral field and T Tech had just beaten the #1 team on the nation....Do you honestly think they shouldn't have jumped USC?

Like I said, if USC was to win a big game while FL won against a crappy team, I'd have no problem with SC jumping the Gators. I can't understand why you can't see this.

Yes, on the same week USC lost to Oregon State. Fl dropped to #12 whileSC was #9. A week later, USC was #5 while Fl was #10. Obviously, you can't say the pollters favored Fl. After both lost, USC was ranked higher for about 3 weeks. Fl only jumped USC after an impressive victory over Georgia. Like I said, if USC was to humiliate a T Tech or Penn ST, they'd easily leap frog the Gators, the problem is that after their loss, they really have no tough opponents. Just the way the system works Lake

Look, the only way FL makes it to the NC game is by beating Bama. You honestly think USC would have anything on their resume to go against tha victory and earn their spot on the NC game?

NO WAY

They are undefeated, if they had 1 loss, they'd be easily ranked behind all the elite 1 loss teams.

I'll take Fls schedule over USC any day of the week. South Carolina, Georgia, Fl State, LSU 8-) , Alabama.

Georgia is not an impressive victory?

The SEC is having a down year, but you would think it hasn't produced the past 2 NC by the way you talk of the SEC

so because a team from the SEC wins the NC two years in a row makes the whole conference great?
