Amare and Nash want to go to the Knicks now

Post#1 » by MaryvalesFinest » Sat Nov 22, 2008 6:42 am

First this article from ESPN about Steve Nash signing the vets minimum in 2010 with the Knicks

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/s ... als-081121

Also if you watched the game on ESPN tonight one of the announcers said Amare was talking about following Lebron or Bosh to what ever team they go to and most likely will be the Knicks.

So what are your guys thoughts on this when players are planning to leave already? Is it best to trade both Amare and Nash while the Suns could still get value for them instead of letting both of them walk and get nothing?

2010 is far away, yet so close...Dont get to hyped up over it now. I really dont see Amare staying with us unless we get some good players. Right now we are looking pretty bad. But, what player wouldnt wanna play w/ Bosh or DWade, of course he said that. I bet they said "Would you wanna play along side either of these guys one day?" and Amare said YES. Dont take it out of context its the media for god sake! ;)

Yeah hopefully if that does happen Kerr is smart enough to trade Amare instead of just letting him walk. But knowing Kerr... :-?

it's possible the knicks could sign 3 FAs for the max but unlikely.

I think amare is safe.

the whole reason behind lebron and bosh is that they are good friends and bosh has been underexposed drastically compared to the other big names.

Yeah Nash doesn't look happy in Porter's offense I can definately see him going back to D'antoni, Amare is always a possibility though.

I think Amare's an unrestricted free agent, right now he seems unhappy along with Nash in Porter's offense hopefully that will change though.

he can opt out and become unrestricted... we can also offer him an extension this summer

all this talk about room in 10, what happens with us

with nash shaq and amares combined 40mil ish coming off the books, wont we be able to be a major player also?

perhaps keep amare and go after a guy like wade ourselves??

i think we should be making the entire offense about nash and amare right now, were putting square pegs in round holes and if its costs us amare..... wow, i wont know what to say

If it costs us Amare, then it will be the first time I seriously think about abandoning this team. I've given my whole life to these guys, and I don't know what I would do. The thought makes me SICK.

Ya, I dunno. If we go to being a super horrid team again, I dunno. I have been a life long fan, but I dunno, sometimes I wonder what new managment is gonna do =/

Colangelo made the Suns a team where players wanted to come. I don't think Sarver is viewed in the same light. I am still hoping this is really an adjustment, and they will start becoming a better running team. It's just not looking like it.

The thing is that w/o D'Antoni, we're no longer an attractive location. On the Knicks board I was reading that Hubie said Amare said he wants to follow Wade and LeBron to NYK or something...

mh, very interesting discussion? what would i do if amare turns his back to this franchise??
i would do nothing, just wait what will come next. we do have a great past. a past where players want to come in this town and play for this franchise. i can´t stand people who say if amare leaves i´ll leave too. man, that´s all business and i hope we take care of business. we have great oppurtunities in 2010, when some big capspace come´s off the books. why not bringing someone like bosh to the suns???
and for nash, yeah he is a great point guard he is the two time mvp. but a superstar and a superior point guard can play different tyoe of offense, not just the ssol. i don´t think you can blame t.porter for the poor offense that suns are playing right now.

Props to the great one

The knicks will have 40 mil on the books with only a hand full of money. They are not going to get 3 of these top FA's man. Most likely one. Even two is a stretch.

If he wants to go, thats fine. Phx is a place where a ton of athletes want to move or already live here. Its an attractive place to live for many athletes. About the FO, well, we will see I guess.

i don´t think so. he ain´t running the system on court. if there is no movement blame the coach??
if we are that hell of a team than we shouldn´t have a problem running the set play.

Props to the great one

Maryvales, I saw on the Knicks forum you said that you knew someone that knew someone in the Suns org who said it was a promise from Nash to Mike to sign for 2010. Where you messing with them or was that true?
