The Dallas Mavericks and Orlando Magic have agreed to trade
Lamar Odom - 14,148,596
in exchange for
Marquis Daniels - 6,864,200
Udonis Haslem - 6,575,000
Javaris Crittenton - 1,381,560
2012 first round pick
Total = 14,820,760 (Salaries work)
The Magic look forward to the playmaking and rebounding skills that Lamar Odom will bring to the table. A left handed, unselfish player such as Lamar should help ease the burden on dwight howard down low. Losing Critt and Haslem hurts, but we couldn't pass up the chance to acquire a piece that will help us contend now.

Dallas accepts. We us Odom to round out the roster. Gaining Haslem's solid frontcourt play and a prospect in Crittendon are nice pieces. We also maintain an expiring and gain a first for future trade assets.

I was going to dump Cardinal to pick him up before I realised I only had 14 players.

^ I thought we could only pick up players that were on rosters at the beginning of the year. Morrow wasn't on GSW's when the season began, right?

Look on GSW's roster page, sterncohen waived him a while back and nobody picked him up.

The Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns have two trades to announce
Trade 1:
Jason Terry for TE obtained in Marcus Camby trade ($10 million) and Oralndo's 2010 first
Jason Terry $9,696,000<$10,000,000
Deal Works
Trade 2:
Adonal Foyle and Zach Randolph for Samuel Dalembert, Sonny Weems and Chris Anderson
Adonal Foyle $797,581
Zach Randolph $14,666,667
Total $15,464,248
for
Samuel Dalembert $11,238,564
Chris Andersen $826,269
Sonny Weems $442,114
Total $12,506,947x1.25 +$100,000=$15,733,684
Deal works (if barely!)
Why: While Zach Randolph and Jason Terry may not have the best contracts in the world, they certainly are quality starters on their respective teams. This bolsters our backcourt and frontcourt while also setting the stage for other possible deals. While we hate to lose a player of Dalembert's quality, he simply has not been performing up to our standards so far this year. Weems and Andersen are just filled and Adonal is Adonal.

Suns accepts. Hard to let go of rejuvinated Z-Bo and Jason Terry but they dont fill our long-term needs. Dalambert will help improve our interior defense which is a must since we already have Amare to take care of the offense. We get huge cap relief too in this deal and marginal prospects in Weems and 2010 ORL 1st.

Charlotte and Minnesota have agreed upon a trade:
Corey Brewer
Rights to Nikola Pekovic
for
DJ Augustin
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=
Minny brings in a PG who we think can run the offense for years to come. He also gives us more of an outside threat which we feel will compliment Al Jeff well. Brewer hasn't produced as much as we'd like this year but still has a lot of potential to be had; it was hard giving up Pekovic as we had hoped he would come over next year and been a main stay in our big man rotation with Al Jeff and Love but we wish him the best in his future. Foye is on the block for a center.

The Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trailblazers have agreed to a trade:
Dallas sends/Portland receives
Rashard McCants- $2,620,126
Sean SIngletary- $442,114
Total: $3,062,240
Portland sends/Dallas receives
Shawne Williams- $1,572,960
Sergio Rodriguez- $874,000
NYK 2009 2nd Round pick
DET 2009 2nd Round pick
Total: $2,446,960
Math works- $2,446,960 x 1.25 + 100,000= $3,158,700 > $3,062,240
Dallas accepts this deal. We are relatively well off at the SG position, so bringing in a young SF and young PG helps round out our roster with more prospects. Two 2nds will also be solid future trade assets.

The Blazers accept. McCants helps to round off our bench and gives us quite the 10 man rotation. Rodriguez isn't needed, and Williams is a bit of a project. We also have an abundance of picks, so losing 2 2nd rounders doesn't matter at all.

I almost backed out of the deal because of how Augustin is playing, but I still don't think that Augustin will ever be consistent enough to lead a team to a championship. We get Corey Brewer who has underachieved but who we feel will one day be one of the best defensive players in the game; also we pick up the rights to Pekovic, and we think that his game will transition nicely into the NBA and he will be a solid C in the NBA one day.
