Yi is a good perimeter defender?!
No way, people blow by him all night and sometimes during the day.

Crap, we are terrible on defense.
We can't guard the perimeter at all.

At least we're consistent.

Pathetic way to end the 3rd.

Re: Official Game Thread: Nets @ Lakers (Nov. 25, 10:30 pm)
first off..it's the Lakers so we shouldn't be surprised how the game unfolded or the outcome.
I've always like Pau and pairing him up with Bynum really compliments each other and hides their individual weaknesses more..its a very scary 4/5 pairing on both ends of the court. They did a number on our frontcourt & pretty much intimidated them.
I was sick of Simmons 2 minutes into the game..had that boneheaded giveaway passing a turnover right back to the Lakers and chucked up two quick shots. He also dares to challenge Boki for his stepping out of bounds Crown.
Lopez's slow footwork was exposed today by a quick frontcourt. He also should learn from Bynum & Pau who both slammed down dunks on or near Lopez that he also has to finish strong. He missed a chippy (or a Booney) right at the rim when he could have easily gathered himself for a dunk/foul. He did have some bright moments and against the caliber he had to play against it's a learning experience that will be good for him.
Yi like Lopez..chalk it up to a learning experience. Yi cannot hang with Pau and his struggles this game caused Frank to keep him on the bench longer than I would have liked. I thought he settled for the 3 ball too much but the effort is there. Anderson, well no matter Yi's struggles his ceiling is far greater but Anderson is a solid bench guy - again settled too much for the 3.
Vince had his shot going but just didn't touch the ball enough. Too passive or the play calling..not sure but that frontcourt seemed to intimidate the Nets from going inside too much. The other leader Devin had an off night but still had a knack for creating contact/fouls.
Bad Dooling showed up.
SWat - wtf....seriously I know this is a rebuild and he needs minutes to develop but as a VC fan who wants to see this team win also I'd say Swift has shown that he should be ahead of SWat in the rotation once he comes back to the team. At this time he's better on both ends of the court - Boone and even Yi/Lopez are starting to show the can play the pick/roll with VC/Devin but SWat can't show himself & on the defensive end it's just foul machine. 6 fouls in less than 8 minutes...c'mon. What happened to the guy from the 1st half of last year !
The good thing about this game , uhm I guess watching the Lakers announcers mistake Hayes for Carter various times during the game. They both even wore the same black leg/ankle sleeves (I think just to screw around with us hah)...Hayes should wear the # 16 just to screw around with people even more. That's probably how VC got so free for the reverse dunk vs. Raptors - they were chasing Trojan VC to the perimeter
EDIT: 3rd quarter blues again. This happened way too often last few years & continues this year. I can't explain this one but I'm sure many will say it's a coaching issue..possibly as teams adjust but it's very frustrating to see and is definitely something to watch going forward. Deja vu. (they did thump Atlanta in the 3rd though...silver linings)

A tale of two benches.......I didn't realise how deep their bench was until garbadge time and it looked like it could have been a starting unit for some other teams.....lol.
Looks like we all agree on Bobby Simmons.....
Do we now have a name for AussieNet?...Is it Matt or Mack as Marv said?
Time to pick ourselve's up and dust ourselves off and get ready for the Kings tonight.

I didn't see the game, so I can't say for sure what happened or what didn't happen. But of the years I've watched Frank, my #1 criticism has been that he is too stubborn with his gameplan that he fails to adjust to how the game is going.
