Say what you want about KG being skinny but he intimidates other players (and officials who refuse to give him a T) all the time on the floor. There is no argument against that.

As for my double standard with Acie/Zaza, I'm not defending Zaza as a player, I agree with you that he sucks. I'm just saying I think he doesn't suck quite as bad as others say, I'd take him over a guy like Morris any day on his heart and passion alone.

KG might intimidate people as a player but his ability as a player is irrelevant when things get physical after the whistle. Zaza has no reason to be worried about getting roughed up by KG. I bet a lot of people on this board could kick KG's ass.

I have no idea why anyone would think KG is intimidating on the court. Its not like he is ever going to throw a punch. Seriously- just go laugh in his face, call him a pussy and whatever else. He isn't going to do a thing about it.

I'm glad you guys think KG is so soft. But if you look at other teams' play and mannerisms around him, they are clearly intimidated.

I would LOVE for Solomon to gain some muscle. That's probably the main reason he sits so much: the opposition can just shove him out of the way.

And tontoz, I saw KG up close when he was in Simpsonville, SC playing HS basketball. Unless he's gotten weaker over the years, I'm not so sure you're right about him.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

i stood right next to him working out in a gym near Lennox Mall. If i was in a pickup game with him and didn't know who he was i wouldn't hesitate to tell him to STFU if he started mouthing off.

If he wasn't a star and tried mouthing off like that in pickup games he would be spending a lot of time in hospitals. In pickup games you are actually safer getting extra physical with someone rather than talking trash, especially with guys who are ex-football players. But if you start talking smack to guys all the time you will get your ass beat a lot.

The problem with letting Zaza go is that there's not many better options available next summer via FA. Some legit centers available:

Aaron Gray (restricted)
Kwame Brown (player option)
Rasho Nesterovic
Francisco Elson (player option)
Johan Petro (restricted)
Robert Swift (unrestricted)

With the exception of maybe Kwame (who may not even opt out), you could argue that Zaza is the best center on the market. I think the Hawks' best bet is to re-sign Pachulia as cheaply as possible, and then draft a center to groom as his soon-to-be replacement.

You must not have played much ball if you think guys like Garnett can get away with talking a lot of smack.

Then again given your unconditional love of Zaza i have to question how much you know about basketball in general.

KG isn't dumb enough to throw a punch and get suspended. Seriously- you have free reign to do anything you want to him and he isn't going to do a thing about it. Its absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah that's right, guys, KG doesn't intimidate anyone during games. Keep dreaming..

The fact that Zaza doesn't get credit for standing up to one of the game's most intimidating players is truly unbelievable. A lot of people are on record as saying that changed the series. Just because you don't like him as a player doesn't mean he can't get credit for anything at all!

I just don't get why KG would be intimidating to anyone. He gets in your face and starts staring- call him a pussy, a ****, Say your dog got intimate with his mom. Whats he going to do about it? take a swing and get suspended? Hell no. He wouldn't do a thing. I can't believe anyone spends time thinking about how someone is intimidated by another player. Maybe role players can be intimidating because they wouldn't care as much about giving a hard foul that got them thrown out and suspended. Maybe someone flat crazy like artest could be considered intimidating. But KG isn't going to throw that first punch EVER because of the consequences. You avhe free reign to laugh in his face.

KG might intimidate people because of his ability as a player. But in a physical confrontation my money is on Zaza. I am sure Zaza would clown KG if they were ever in an actual fight.
