GREENBEANS, a gift for you inside! Thank you Boston Celtics

Post#1 » by shobe_81 » Sun Nov 30, 2008 12:31 am

Even though the Lakers got raped in game 6 of the FInals, thank you for opening our eyes to playing defense. We've improved our defense at least somewhat which has helped us dominate thus far in the season with 1 loss.

When you have Vladimir saying:
"Never until those finals did I realize how much defense matters in the game of basketball. I tried to focus more on my defense than anything else this offseason. That's the part of the game I lack the most."
you know something is wrong with the defense.

As much as I hate the Celtics, I do respect them for the effort they put into defense

So thanks for opening the L(fakers) eyes to defense :x

See you on Christmas and may both teams be fully healthy

You are welcome.

The graphic at the end of your post looks like Kobe and the Lakers starters going up in flames!?! Was that taken last year during the finals? 8-)

I love the LA/Boston rivalry and I really do hope we see you guys in the finals again this year.

You know the whole 'Defense wins championships' isn't really a new concept. I'm disappointed that Phil Jackson (and his allstar coaching staff), Kobe Bryant (the MVP and owner of 3 rings), and Derek Fisher (a great glue-guy and owner of 3 rings as well) couldn't impart this wisdom without suffering the humiliation of game 6.
"I can tell you my testicles are the same size," he added later. "They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have." - Barry Bonds disputing allegations of steroid use.

How can you be in the NBA and not realize how important defense is?

Still not sure why Lakers' fans feel the need to come here and prove some point about who is better. Here is an idea; maybe wait until they play or the playoffs and not do it in November when it is pretty irrelevant?

a californier fan drawing attention to the oceaners on the Celtics board, typical selfishness, gotta love it! I thought they had their own board?

Haha he got so upset over that "Ga Ga over LAL" thread calling the Lakers "fakers" that he not only made a comment in it, but he made a new thread here, and also made a thread on the General NBA board. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=856861

The Celtics are better than the Lakers.

WOW, some of you are sorry no foul language

I was trying to give your team respect and props for opening my teams eyes to what they should have been doing and you're calling me selfish, attention-wanting? :-?

And I'm not coming here and saying my Team's better than yours, a lot of our fans are saying we have to prove we can beat you before we consider ourselves the best.

So stop twisting this Sh^^

Until you win a title really it's only talk. While the Lakers do look better defensively, the Celtics have improved their offense. I honestly think it's still a horrible match up for the Lakers.

On behalf of the Celtics organization, we'd like to thank the Lakers franchise for letting us rape your teams for 8 titles. We look forward to the 9th title from you guys this year.

I do think the Celtics were a catalyst for the Lakers improved play this year.

None moreso than the Game 6 total embarrassment.

After Japanese planes bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, the man who planned and commanded the attack, Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto, had private fears about what he had done. The admiral had lived in the United States as a naval attaché in the 1920s, and the experience had left him with an abiding respect for American dynamism and power.

"I'm afraid we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled it with terrible resolve," he said.

I hope going into Christmas, both teams bring 20 game win streaks to the table.

May the best team win, December 25th, 2008.

ps. Let's not kid ourselves and say the regular season means nothing unless you've already decided the Celtics won't win this Christmas.

come on lads, the OP was fine so lets handle it with a little dignity.

Thanks for the respect, and we look forward to renewing hostilities soon.

Then the elbows can fly both on the court and on the boards.

In the grand scheme of things that game really means for little to the outcome of the Celtics ultimate goal.

If that''s the case, I hope the Celtics just give the game to the Lakers. It' will help alot to re-build the Lakers confidence after that Game 6 embarrassment.

It's still 17 to 11!!!!
