The "What if" Game
Nothing like a good off season "WHAT IF" thread to get more chatter going around here.
Lets say that we can sign anyone in the league that we want for next year, BUT next year only.
Taking our squad as it sits right now, with what we know about our team, who would help our team out the most in the SHORT term?
Name the player, why you choose said player, and how many more wins this ONE player would improve us to including the total wins.

What type of numbers do you think he would get in "our" system?
8,000 yards on 500 carries. 16 ypc with 75 TD's.

while I will agree that Favre's talent is no where near what Peyton's is right now, I find it very hard to believe that having Peyton, instead of Brett next year would result in as many wins as we would have if we had LT in our back field.
We would still have a very young line. We would still have an unproven FB and RB.
We would still have TE's that can't catch, and our best reciever will still DD.
While Peyton is very good, I could only envision us winning a game or 2 more, with no where near the impact that adding a stud RB would be to this team.
EDIT: in fact I would argue that if we would have played the month of Dec as good as we did the rest of the season, we would have had a bad enough record to land ourselves Peterson in the draft, and if we would have made the Moss move happen, we could be looking at the Playoffs this season. This is a "What If" thread, you know

So if the colts were playing this, they would take a QB, too...since you ALWAYS go with a QB?
This is a one year rental, why take a QB when our best player on O right now is already our QB.
Frankly we have needs at every OTHER area.
If this is a one year rental no. I'm guilty of not reading through all the thread. I would take Peyton to start a team. For our team for a one year rental- I without hesitation would take LT.

A perceived strength on this team, and you would take one first? Are you Ted Thompson?
Do it for Chuck
