North Texas bid beats Indy, Arizona for 2011 Super Bowl

Post#1 » by A-Town Connection » Tue May 22, 2007 7:48 pm

The 2011 Super Bowl will be played at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington, Texas. Indianapolis and Glendale, Arizona also bid for the game.

The Indianapolis bid featured the Colts' domed stadium opening in 2008 and was backed by a Top 10 list by David Letterman.

Oh well. Would have been nice.

It went down to the wire, hopefully Indianapolis will get an opportunity to host a Super Bowl in the not too distant future. Going up against Dallas's new stadium was just a tough matchup for us....

Yeah, remember, the NFL makes the most money out of all American sports, and having the Big Game in Big D would mean an extra $15 million in ticket sales alone (I think that's right)...

Let's hope for 2013 or 2014...

It would have been great to have the Super Bowl in Indy. I think that if it wasn't for the fact the NFL makes 16 million more from having the game in Texas then Indy would have got the Super Bowl.
