Bad call MM
4th in 1 on the half yardline. We should of went for it. Hell with the fieldgoal. If we didnt get it they would be on the 1 yardline. Instead us getting easy 3 and kicking off and they return the last few for 40+ yards everytime. Mike had a bad call today. Rogers wanted to go for it.

Re: Bad call MM
I don't necessarily agree on going for it on 4th and one. What does blow my mind is lining up in obvious run formations and then going head-long into the middle of their line.
A run/pass option bootleg should be automatic in every goal line situation.

Re: Bad call MM
MM has cost us three games because of red zone playcalling.
Play action is working on the goal line all day. You don't run a bunch formation with the FB against a great front.
Not been impressed with MM's playcalling at all this year.

Re: Bad call MM
Its a horrible call to me and said so in the game thread. They need 65 yards to get into field goal range still if they stop us for the win.
Meanwhile up three, and with them returning the ball most times well, on the ending drive they need 20 yards to tie, 55 to win.
Dumb call.

MM=Mike Sherman.Blahhhh. And how does one guy get down the field one on one in a close game. They play it so safe down at the goal line, than play it so risky on the D. Our coaches are morons.LUKE23 wrote:MM has cost us three games because of red zone playcalling.

Summed up my thoughts perfectly.

Just once I'd like to see a damn shovel pass inside the 5. The Eagles had a beautiful one on Thursday.

4th close loss for the season. 9-7 might not be a enough for us to win the north. We need alot of help. Then we need to win our last 4. But I just noticed the viking have the hardest schedule for the division rest of the season. Viking need to beat the bears. Cause viking could lose to falcons, cardinals and giants. They will beat lions. Bears have a easy schedule like us rest of the way. So vikings need to lose 3 out of 5 or more. Bears need to lose tonight and more. We need to win all. We need the second win over the bears. Cause the sweep is gonna be needed for tie breaker. I think 1 more loss for us were done. Unless viking and bears get really sloppy rest of season which I doubt for the bears. Viking have a tough schedule. I think we can leap frog them in 3 weeks.

Are you kidding me? Down 2 games with 4 to go. Not going to do it with a moron like MM at the helm.blueedwards wrote:4th close loss for the season. 9-7 might not be a enough for us to win the north. Definitely not using Jackson enough. 7.3 yards per carry today, 5 for the season.

I would love to see a real offensive coordinator next year.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Bad call MM
Didn't matter. This team lacks intestial fortitude. When we need a big play or a simple conversion or if we need a stop we havent been able to do it all year long. Today our Run defense was ok but then our Special Teams gave this one away. Too bad, there were a lot of good plays today by the Defense and Offense but Carolina had a short field every time they got the ball and didn't need to do anything special to score points. We are weak and every time we get punched in the mouth we turn around and walk away

Re: Bad call MM
the bad play calling started with three rushing plays in a row, terrible, throw a 2 yard pass and its a touchdown followed then by the field goal, what was it 4th and half a foot? Not like we held them to a field goal all game. Terrible play calling, like MD said, new Offensive Corrdinater next season would be lovely. And a new F-ing punter, for crying out loud whats going through there mind when they watch him punt.
I shouldn't be driving this car

I here Frost has a MM and Thopson sex tape in his possesion. That's how he got the job and that's how he's kept it this long while underperforming along the way.

Re: Bad call MM
I also lol'd when they rushed 11 on the last punt. You've got a guy who returned 2 this year, but instead you don't use him and let the time run down as the ball keeps rolling. Get Blackmon back there or both him and WIlliams and run a reverse.
Rushing 11? That's something that the special teams coach/chemistry teacher at a high school would do and think he's a genius.

Re: Bad call MM
I want to see a real defensive coordinator next year....it was a horrible call not to QB sneak it on 2nd and goal at the 1/2 yard line, but offense is not this teams problem.

I wouldn't have passed. It's 2nd and goal from the half yard line, run the QB sneak twice if you have to. Right after the Jackson run i said please sneak it, Rodgers has got the few inches every time this year and we had two downs for Rodgers to get a few inches. Instead MM takes out the receivers and runs a stretch wide with a zillion players bunched into a small area and it's loses a yard.
MM runs the sneak to get the first down with ease on fourth and inches, but at the goal line decides to run a stretch play.

I was so pissed when he made this call. It just made absolutley no sense, the Packers' coaches out think themselves all the time.

It happens all the time when i watch football and i don't don't get it.
Teams get near the goal line and so often take out all their WR's and instead put 8-9 guys on the line, thus you end up having a million big bodies all bunched together in a small area. Then when not surprisingly the RB gets stuffed for no yards or even lose ground, they do the exact same thing the next play.

Bring in a couple of wide receivers which spreads out the defense some and doesn't allow for so many big bodies in a small confined area if you plan to hand the ball to a RB near the goal line.
My other peeve is why coaches fail to use the QB sneak more on the goal line? I don't think Rodgers has been stopped once all year at the QB sneak when we needed a half yard or less for a first down or TD, so why the hell didn't MM use it at the goal line? On that same drive Rodgers easily got a first down on 4th and inches, yet with only 2nd and inches at the goal line, he calls a stretch play to a running back, someone explain this to me?
While this stuff frustrates me to no end with McCarthy, i see the same baffling calls every weekend when watching other games.

It was a tie game with less than 2 minutes left. You have to kick the field goal that situation. I'm baffled that people would suggest anything else.
