I think he could legitimately get 25-30mins here, with spot starts. He can play some PG too, and remember how Nash has to play ALL those minutes cos when we're up 10 and he goes out for 2mins he comes back and we're all tied up again!

I'm split on Cancerbury. Half of me doesn't want any part of adding the lunatic to our already fractured lockerroom, and the other half of me says "what the hell, can't go anywhere but up".

I would love to have Starbury back. I'm sick of the people saying this guy can't play with his team. The guy has averaged around 8apg for his career and can get into the lane better than anyone in the league. He's tough and not a bad defender. He was clutch for us in the playoffs in 03 and he could be a big help.

He was a good guy while in Phoenix, he had one DUI and the team traded him.

This season is 90% unsalvagable.... and even then, we do not have the squad to do anything but put a few more playoff gate beans in RSarvers pocket...

I am for a total rebuild.

Send Nash off where he belongs (w/DAnt) Barbososo too

Pack Amare to a major market city in the East....cause I got news for you, he is going anyways. We will either lose him to the highest bidder ala JoeJohnson, or he will just play out his option and be free from any constraint , or his microknee will require more knifing. His love affair with pappa RSarver, as it is with many, is over. (Thanks Kerr)

Ship out Bell too...for what ever a once effective dirty defender can bring (excuse me...hardnosed)

Glean as many #1s as we can, and tank this yr to get in the lotto
add some solid young vets,
cut the cap space so we may add some FAs....
and get on the back of the BIG SKYCAP for another yr.....

oh yeah.... and find a new coach. Unfortunately, our GM has to fire himself.

I think our biggest weakness is at SG, Barbs is way too inconsistent and poor at D. Bell is older and is not as effective anymore.
I blame Mike for a lot of our current seasons woes because we don't have young talent that we could have developed to replace our veterans and for running Bell into the ground by playing him 40 minutes a game for consecutive seasons.

When you have a bad defender in Nash you have to pair him with another good defender in the off guard spot but Barbs is incapable of playing D at this point and Bell doesn't seem all that effective anymore.

Bell was brought in originally to play off the bench and I think that's where he belongs, that way he can stay fresh for the limited amount of minutes that he is out on the floor.

Is it really this extreme yet? Not being sarcastic at all, just sayin DAMN! Just blow it up and totally re-tool. I am still for building around Amar'e...if he KNOWS they are treating him as the corner stone, his motivation should come up. I think he is just unsure of and discouraged of his place under Porter

Extreme ? Perhaps.... but perhaps you believe this team, this coach, this GM can win a championship this yr ? I don't. This collection of ballers has already peaked, and now being asked to redefine themselves in ways they cannot meet. We will be even more pathetic next yr with the aid of Father Time, a few FA departures (Hill and Barnes), and continual stagnanation of key core members (Stat and Barbososo). We will be once again restricted by the salcap and lux tax...and news flash...other than wearing a TeeShirt in Febuary, Phnx is no longer on the Free Agent 'most desirable place to play' list.

Why put off the inevitable ? Capitalize on the value that Stat, Nash, Barbo have. (I'd atleast deal Stat, as the primadonnaB-LebronwannaB is the most likely to bolt)

GD, with some multiple first rounders and maybe even a couple of lotto studs...atleast there would be some hope. Take a look what Portland has done...and compare that to what we have. We get some good rooks in 09 draft,, get the budget in control, land a couple of good Free Agents in '10 when the BigLoad drops of the books...well, it sure seems more viable than trying to retool this current confused roster.

The window is closed folks.

PS....or ever so slightly cracked

Honestly, I'd trade Amare before I trade Nash, mainly b/c Nash still appears to care.

Trade Amare for another young piece, ship Shaq and Nash for young players/expirings/picks...let's just blow this thing up.

Hmmm...

Shaq/Diaw to the Cavs in exchange for Ben Wallace, Szczerbiak, and Verajao.

could help a bit, the offense would have to be focused around Amare, and Ben makes up for his defensive/rebounding deficiencies, Verajao would be a solid fit next to Robin Lopez in the second unit (players would have a hard time seeing over their hair) Wally would mostly be used to dump Diaws contract and allow room for retooling in the offseason, but is also a shooter which we could always use...

Nash/Barbosa/Singletary
Bell/Szczerbiak/Dragic
Barnes/Hill
Stat/Verajao
Wallace/Lopez

Not bad? Shaq would be more than happy to get a chance to compete with 'Bron, IMO.

Moving Diaw would be a bad idea ... I think he is playing better ball than he has in a while...he is... gulp... our best all around player. Besides, he still diminishes a deal. Stat by himself, ought to get a couple quality young 3-4 yr vets on their second contracts and a good draft pick or 2.

Call me nutz, but I still would like to see Hinrich here.
