Corey "masturbater" maggette should be his new nick name. when an opposing player drives to the basket, he puts both of his hands on his penis and masturbates instead of putting his hands up. that wade 3pt play tonight is an example of him jacking off

Didn't this guy get 29 pts tonight? And 32 last game? And 32 two games before that?

I'm sure that means nothing, though.

He played 46 minutes tonight and had zero assists.

Absolutely KILLS ball movement.

A player could play like Magette, put up 100 points and I'd still hate him.

Points actually do grow on trees apparently.

You're misinterpreting what I said. Maggette played tonight in such a way that takes emphasis away from team play. He didn't pass the ball and left teammates for dead on defense. He could have scored 100 but then he would have cost even more than 100 as far as points for teammates and points allowed either by his man or by being nonexistant when it comes to help. Maggette played bad tbasketball tonight. That's the bottem line.

Everyone please be quiet, Nick has a point here. You know, points don't grow on trees. Corey worked his ass off to score all those 29 pts tonight. Even his teammates had to stand aside for him to score. If we didn't have Corey's 29 pts, we would have lost by 30 points.

You should call him Corey MagSavior. He'll bring you a top 10 pick in the draft. :P

Think how much closer the game would have been if Maggette looked for open teammates or played defense (most notably on Quinn on his game tying 3).

Darius Miles averaged something like 18 ppg when he was with Portland, but that didn't make him a good player because he couldn't shoot, pass, or play defense. I'm not saying Maggs is doomed to this mold, but he's playing more for the ref's whistle and highlight dunks than for the team right now.

For the record, Maggette played a good game but it could have and should have been much better with a little more effort.

There are players playing A LOT worse than him who get a free pass (Beans on the road trip, Randolph his entire NBA career, Bad Jax).

Face it, you guys have fallen for the demonization job put forth by our resident propoganda masters. Whoever they hate, you hate and whoever they love, you love. Think about it.

Not at all. Bad defensive rotations, nonmovement without the ball, and nonexistent passing makes for a pretty terrible basketball player, no matter how you spin it. It's not something that is just imagined or concocted out of nothing.

Nick..just curios.. you do realise that there are more aspects in basketball game then only scoring??? The philospohie of scoring players was the philosophie of Knicks for years.. they really didnt do that good :)

The games I've watched Maggette was passing the ball well. Cut to the hoop to draw a defender, pass it across the lane to a wing who either shoots it or passes it to the second guy for an easier shot.

This game he might have not done it well, but the guy was getting to the line at will. I can hardly blame him for stopping what amounts to free points and foul trouble for your defender.

Anyways, the guy is not an ideal SF to have, and even less-so an ideal PF, but he is easily one of our best players.

I have to agree this is a bit silly. Maggette isn't perfect. If he was, he'd be getting more than $10m a year. He has flaws. Defense is certainly one of them. His passing is nothing special. If you want to pick on his defense for last night, that makes sense. But last night's loss had pretty much nothing to do with the offensive end; it had to do with bad defense, horrendous rebounding, and a few boneheaded plays.

This team is bad enough right now with enough obvious flaws that there really isn't need to invent more. Maggette got to the line 18 times last night, which may not be pretty but is brutally effective, especially since he made 17 of them. If you really want to dwell on the fact that he could have passed a few of the 9 shots he missed, I guess you can do that, but we have bigger fish to fry.

Last night was a weird night, in that lots of players played well and badly at the same time. Wright looked great at the offensive end, but managed to grab 4 rebounds in 31 minutes. Crawford was on fire at the offensive end, but played crappy defense. Maggette was solid at the offensive end, but crappy on defense. Jax did a pretty good job keeping the ball moving, but couldn't make a shot or grab a rebound. Between Jackson, Wright, and Crawford, they grabbed 6 rebounds in 130 minutes. That's hideous. Maggette, who apparently kills babies and is ruining the U.S. economy, had 5 rebounds, which isn't amazing but is at least respectable.

If your point is that nobody played poorly except Maggette, again, that's just silly. Like most of the team, he played well in some ways and badly in others. Even Biedrins who I *love* was pretty out of it in the first half. He just came to life in the second half and looked great. Which could lead to yet another discussion of Nelson's substitution patterns. I could also say that Nelson did a really nice job for parts of the game and crappy for others.
