There is plenty of talent on the Suns roster. And we'll never know whether Terry Porter's approach works if the players don't buy into it.

So far, they really haven't.

^Yeah that sums it up

There are already some really loud public rumblings and we're not even 20 games in.
Dare I say Kerr/Sarver are in too deep with Porter, so chances are a big deal is looming, and I can't see it being Shaq or Nash.

I think the article is too simplistic if you ask me.

Amaré Stoudemire, who says he wants to be the featured guy, is getting more pick-and-roll opportunities this season than he did either before or after the Shaq trade last season.

Really? More PnR opportunities?

Point taken. But play what? What's Porter's game plan? I don't think he has figure it out yet. How can you ask the player to buy into something that isn't legit?

But the idea that everything is running through Shaquille O'Neal is somewhat misleading, too. He's giving the Suns 14.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists a game while averaging 27.8 minutes.

Last season while just "trying to fit in," he averaged 12.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists while averaging more time - 28.7 minutes.

What the hell is he trying say? I don't know. How about Shaq is averaging more FGAs per minute than Amare?

Leandro Barbosa's numbers have dropped the most. Is that the offense or because he missed training camp and a handful of games while tending to his mother and then had to deal with her passing?

Grant Hill's minutes have dropped the most, which figures with Barnes arriving.

That still doesn't excuse Porter's horrible sub patterns. There's no excuse whatsoever for him to play ALL our starters the ENTIRE quarter. Period. Those guys, Boris, LB and Hill, when healthy, should play about 30 minutes, especially with Boris playing great ball lately.

It's about being a pro.

Yea, like they'll have an art and craft session before game...

Stoudemire has yet to get the Suns past the Western Conference finals - and they made it that far once without him.

It's hard with David Stern trying to force him watching Game 5 at home...

And if that happens, don't blame Porter.

I still blame Porter. He didn't improve the defense, and our offense sucks.

The numbers are misleading. It's not just Shaq getting the ball. It's all the TO's we commit trying to *get* Shaq the ball. We have some of the worst ball movement I've ever seen when giving an entry pass into the post. You don't need a creative passer like Nash distributing the ball into the post you need good *team* ball movement. Swing it around the perimeter then dump it in on the opposite block.

So to say he doesn't get as many touches is misleading. It's quite obvious we are def looking for him a lot more. The fact that he doesn't get the ball on a high number of possessions due to TO's is the most frustrating thing for me.

That's why we shouldnt be forcing the ball to him. I'd rather see us play the PnR and have Nash throw away a creative pass rather then seeing the ball not even make it to Shaq in the post. That just frustrates the crap out of me.
