Vetoable? Monta Ellis for Kevin Love

Post#1 » by DWC » Tue Dec 2, 2008 3:41 pm

17-team Keeper League with standard 9 yahoo cats in our 2nd year.

So far it is 5-2 in favor of vetoing the trade with 8 more votes to come.

Please let me know what you all think.

imo unless owners are conspiring trades should never be vetoed...

if you don't trust the credibility of the people in your league then that's a different question you should address when deciding whom should be in the league

also the fact this is keeper league makes the trades even more subjective and should be up to the owners to decide.

Agree with the above to an extent. I would veto some clearly one-sided deals that would disrupt the balance of a league (in particular a keeper league). That said, I don't see this as one-sided deal in a keeper league. Love has potential to be a good to very good NBA player and Monta may never be the player he once was. There's speculation that with this type of injury, he may not regain the speed he used to have.
Bob Myers, June 7, 2018: "“It’s not in my job description to please NBA fans. It’s to win, end of story. I don’t need to be entertained, I just need to win. That’s all it is. That’s all I was hired to do. Win.”

not even close to a veto
I'd be furious if I was making this deal and it got vetoed for no reason

If a dude wants to make any trade that isn't an obvious fire sale , I don't veto.

Whats the consensus on Monta? Back late december? A dude in my league just dropped him, and I'm thinking about picking him up.

I've managed to stay in first place while Manu and Deron were out and now that they're back I think I can drop my bottom dude to hold Monta, and still stay on top. My lowest producers are Shaq, Tyson Chandler, DJ Augustin, Drew Gooden.

Thank you all for your opinions. They've been a big help. I believe the votes have now pulled about even and I think the trade will go through.
