Derek is right, we have to be careful...

Post#1 » by redoctober9 » Tue Dec 2, 2008 9:36 am

A willy veteran that he is DEREK FISHER is a bit cautious at how fast the start of the Lakers this season compare to the previous years. Well I guess Fish is right. Being 14-1 doesn't guarantee us the parade come june so I guess we ought to pray that we would be healthy and play more than the level that we are doing right now. I really like the way we are playing. Bynum is now a certified beast in the middle and maybe he is our missing link against those celtics. Pau Gasol fits well as the 4 person and he is always ready when Kobe is missing his shot but one thing that keeps the Lakers well is the team defense and a guy name T-ARIZA. Man Ariza did most of the damage on our recent victory and he is our sparkplug off the bench. I believe if T-ARIZA stays healthy then bring those celtics back so that we can have a match. Just pray Lakers fans we all know that this will be our year...

Derek just needs to be careful of thinking he is the 2nd option....

- stop shooting pull up jumpers on fast breaks
- stop driving to the basket and making yourself look like a clown
- feel free to throw it in the post now and then

he's supposed to be the steady veteran. Solid as a rock.... consistant, always makes good decisions. Instead, early on he's been the opposite. Making horrible decisions in taking bad shots, early in the shot clock.

He's a player that's made a living making good decisions and taking wide open shots when the ball is kicked out to him. Why he's opted to change this now is beyond me.

yeah, i've been seeing him jacking up a lot of low percentage jump shots on fast breaks.. does he feel his ppg isn't enough? I prefer a smart defensive mind player more than an offensive one. Like what people say - defense wins games.

But we do have to be careful. So when can we really celebrate our winnings??? not until we bring it home again.. hehe that's a long time to wait but we're all on the same page right? We all want to bring it home.

For what? In my opinion, we don't need the offense and his defense isn't better than Fish's. Besides, he does't know the /_\ and is unlikely to take on a limited role for the benefit of the team. He's never been about winning a ring and would almost have to show he's got something left in the tank to get a longer look from anyone that may want to sign him longer term.

To me this would reak of a dennis rodman, isaiah rider expirement and we all know how those turned out.

The only reason as to why we could go for him is to have insurance should fish or farmar go down.

But if Pjax is willing to give him a look, so be it. Who can argue?

I think our 3rd best pg is still gonna be Sasha and Trevor could easily get some burn when Kobe's sitting at sg.

I know. Since when did Fisher think he has the green light? He's been making some bad decisions this season. I love the guy, but when you've got numbers on a fast break (3 on 2) the last option as a pg should be to stop and pull up for a 3.
