Trades this huge have about a 0% chance of happening in real life and should start off with a reasoning why there is so many teams involved and why each team should do the trade. The way I see it:

Dallas---Upgrades Dampier to Kaman by downgrading Diop to Collins. Kaman'c contract is bigger than Damp's and Diop's is longer than Collins. That portion has to be done by the Mavs. The rest comes down to our scrubs for Mike Miller and other scrubs. Obviously, Dallas should do it.

Charlotte---Has no reason whatsoever to do this trade. Okafor-Dampier-Diop is too much committed salary at the 5 spot and they have no PG after this trade. They trade a long contract, but a talented player in Wallace and 2 avg wings for 2 other avg wings. Why would they even concider being in the trade?

L.A. Clippers---While they are looking for a SG, Morrison and Carney is not much of an upgrade to Davis and they already have Gordon. Trading Kaman for Wallace would only happen if they did a followup trade of Gordon and Thornton for an all-star level SG. As big as this trade is...they don't fix any holes as they play ring around the chairs with SG and and increase their depth at the 3 to decrease the 5.

Minnesota---Why on earth would they trade Miller and several decent players on good contracts and an expiring at a position of need to take on Carroll's contract? If any teams in this trade try to go after Kaman...it's them. Felton is a short term stop gap PG for Minny IMO. Minny does not do this trade either.

So in conclusion, Dallas says yes, but this makes absolutley no sense for any of the other teams.

Oh no....they approached me about becoming one, but I told them I'm not politically correct enough to be one (if you need proof, ask DDansby, mmreg and speedyG). I'd be a terrible mod. Catalyst, HMMFL and flurp (btw, what happened to flurp?) are great!

I have to edit this as I'm sure cmavswin will be a great mod too.

Ah, nonsense. I'm sure you would've been good, everybody on the board likes you cause you tell it like it is. cmavswin is going to be cool as a mod, because cmavs has always been cool, flurp retired eh? does that mean he's done with the board altogether? or just as a mod?

First off I agree wth JES trades like this dont happen also you have Diop listed on the Mavs line up and the Bobcats ? I assume it's a typo ... Anyways I totally love Realgm and I watched it from a far for a while till I realized I could get access to start posting but I feel like I'm still learning the ropes I didn't even realize what the mod's do and I still dont know all the other things this site offers. But it has been a blast being a part of it. I love talking b ball !

Yeah.. it was probably a typo.
I've been browsing the headlines on Realgm for awhile now, I finally decided to become a member at some point, I hate signing up for stuff, I really do... but I like this board, and during the time when the writers over at DMN were all on vacation or (whatever they were doing) and were to busy to update the fans on what was going on, I stayed updated by coming here, it's funny half of the people on this board could run the Dallas Morning News Sports section.

Ok I realize this is off topic but I am (Please Use More Appropriate Word) as can be and cant figure out how to do one of those cool picture signatures like mavsfoty has or something along those lines. I tried going about all kinds of different ways. If anybody can help me out I would really appreciate it. I hate to waste a post on something like this but I really tried to figure it out and as you can tell I am obviously a computer genious ! Thanks

Doubt it. But LOL at calling it the way I see it...that has got me into trouble plenty of time (and not talking the internet).

JES was my suggestion as a mod. I like that you are not politically correct. I would worry about you dampening your opinions, but it is a choice that you have to make. And, you are the best analyzer of deals on the board.

That said, there is no way this trade would happen, and you still have diop on mavs after trade.

the more I think about it the less I like hitching DAl to Kaman as a long term C
sure he's an upgrade over Damp now, but I've set my sights on 2010 and Kaman doesn't help get Bosh to DAL in 2010...

I think that's a sure "no" for MIN.

They've heavily marketed the local Mike Miller since his acquisition, and his shooting and flexibility are a big help to their team. Their part of the trade doesn't seem to bring back enough value.
