Who do you like better?

This has nothing to do with players, I'm talking announcers.

Marv & Fratello
or
Eagle & Spanarkel

Personally I perfer E & S, they seem to gel much better with each other and Marv & Fratello always seem to make mistakes alot. Eagle & Span when they go off on a tangent talking about random stuff off the basketball court sometimes can be very funny. I don't like when announcers are boring and just talk about what's going on in the game (I know it's their jobs) but I already saw for my self I don't need to have Fratello explain it to me. This is my thread for more Ian & Jim. Not to be such a homer but Ian & Jim are one of my favorite teams of announcers to listen to. I'll show Walt Clyde some love too because I also like him. (But not the Knicks)

I agree I like Eagle and Spanarkel better. I thought Marv and Fratello would be a great combo. To me, it seems like there is a lot of dead air sometimes and they just don't really roll off each other that well. They need a wackjob there too like Jackson or Van Gundy.

I love Clyde. He's one of the few guys that would complain when a walk wasn't called. Some of the old school guys (not named Bill Walton) are great cause they're brutally honest a lot.

I gotta go Bird and Jim.

But Marv and the Czar are good times too.

I think my favorite, at least after Bird and Jim has to be Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Breen.

I also love Clyde and Breen, the Golden State guys, Portland's team, Lawyler and the other guy for the Clips and the Lakers guys are decent.

I want to juggle clock radios in the tub anytime Doug Collins is on.

Utah, Chicago, Toronto, Dallas, Miami and OKC are absolutely brutal. So bad they induce baby punching.

The Worst is Philly and Boston. That idiot in Boston with his Tommy points. It's unwatchable. The Philly guy I haven't heard anyone scream so much over a jump shot.

Bird and Jim for me too. I did enjoy Mark Jackson with Marv but I didn't like him right off the bat. So the is hope for the Czar. I'd like to see some young guys that are really into it get a shot. Instead of two old timers who could call a game in there sleep.

Ian is the best in the biz. It didn't get much better than Mark Jackson and Eagle.

Eagle and Spanarkel.. My favorite though was Mark Jackson and Ian Eagle. They were funny together and even if the game sucked they made it funny to watch

Regarding Fratello:

I have read suggestions that Fratello is a 'Plan B' of sorts in the event that Frank does not last the whole season. They argued that he has head coach experience and is watching the team closely as an announcer so he is one of the better choices to replace Frank if the need arises. Does anyone believe this?

It's exactly what I thought when we hired him. Get him acclimated with the team so a transition wouldn't need much time. But still, I take it with a grain of salt.

Marv owns even by himself. I loved the Jackson& Marv combo but the Marv and Czar combo aint bad. The other announcers are great also im not hatin on them. Quick question though. Are we the only team with Marv Albert as one of our main announcers? I know TNT has him also but i was just wondering if he only did TNT and the Nets. I know he also does the Super Bowl(cuz he is a gangstarr like that)

Interesting never really thought about that, but if we do get rid of Frank I'd rather give Marc Jackson a shot at the job. Get a fresh face in there. Everyone seems to respect Marc. This is for another thread I suppose.

I think it was Knicks/Dallas.

If I am correct, he is still a Knicks scout.
