STICKY!! Rivalries

Post#1 » by ws26 » Fri Dec 5, 2008 3:33 am

Hey, I'm gonna write an article on rivalries and I wanted some feedback.
I was hoping that you could give me a list of the team you would consider your rival, scale that rivalry 1-10, and your most hated player in the league (on any team).
Thanks.

Rivals:
Lakers - 10
Warriors - 8
Mavs - 5 (only because we had some good playoff matchups).

#1 hated player - Kobe
#2 hated player - Kobe
#3 hated player - Kobe

Edit: Oh and I hate that fat guy everyone calls the diesel. And I still hate Rick Fox, I watch that video of Christie punching him in the face over and over and never get tired of it.

I hate the Lakers with a FIERY passion greater than that of a thousand suns. I hate the Celtics (and the Patriots, and the Red Sox) too even though there really isn't a rivalry. Last season's finals were agonizing for me.

All time hated player- RICK FOX. My hatred of him could very well send me to the deepest depths of Hell.

Teams:
1. Lakers - There were many great playoff battles.
2. Everyone else.

I don't know why but every year since the Kings moved here I don't remember us and the Warriors being contenders at the same time. So there really has not been a huge rivalry between us.

Players
1. Robert Horry - He hit the biggest shot of our western conference final that was tipped right to him. If the ball goes anywhere else after Vlade's tip we win that series because we had the Lakies by the throat. It was a 1 in a million play and the Lakers stole our tickets to the championship. It was the basketball equivalent of the Tennessee Titans game AFC Championship game when the other team scored and had to kick with a five point lead and about 5 seconds left. All they had to do was tackle the runner. The Titans catch the ball on the kickoff the guy catches the ball, throws it across the field to a teammate who runs for a TD. Game over. We had won the series up to that point and the Lakers made the most of the mistake. Everyone looked at eachother like what the h**l just happened? Just like with the Kings. I was watching the game with a Lakers fan on TV who was nearly in tears until Horry hit that shot.

We'll see if JT and Hawes can bring some more excitement to the rivalry.
