Has Nash dunked before?

Post#1 » by blackjays » Sat Dec 6, 2008 11:45 pm

I can picture watching a Dallas/Toronto game as a kid, maybe 99-00 season, and him getting barely high enough to one hander the rim after a steal. Does anyone remember anything like this, I'm trying to find a clip but I don't think i ever will.

I thought I had read a while back that Amar'e and Marion said that Nash dunks in practice all the time. Not sure, I will have to see if I can find the link.

Haha we all ask this question every couple of months. He supposedly can, but to him, probably with his back , it doesn't make sense (pounding from dunking puts a lot of hurt on you). Raja a few months ago had someone ask him what is something about Steve Nash that no one knows, and he said that Steve can dunk.

He has an interview w/ playboy where he says he can but just doesn't because it's not his playing style. Google Steve Nash and Playboy and you should be able to read it.

LOL

I wouldn't know how to react if it was a one on nothing fast break and he just pulls a massive one-hander.

Honestly, I don't think there are many players who has never dunked in their career despite having enough hops to dunk. But yeah, Raja did that online question thing and said Nash does dunk in practice.

Maybe Tastic and the other boys going to PHX next year should pull a sneaky sneaky and film Nash dunking in practice for us.

True story. And for those who have been around for a few years might remember me telling this. My wife’s company had a photo shoot with Nash at Luis Gonzales house. Nash is a cool cat. He was real with everyone and showed no ego. I gained a lot of respect for him that day as a person. He was really nice and cool with my son too.

Anyway, at the photo shoot, the photographer asked Nash to dunk and he laughed and said, I cant. The guy thought he was lying and asked him again, and he said seriously, I can't dunk.

I think he did not want to. I remember later that year he got up for a lay-up and his hand was over the rim.

He can dunk. I've personally seen him do it in practice...back before they banned everyone from going anyway. So apparently no other "outsiders" will be able to see it happen again!

He probably can dunk but not to the point where he can dunk with ease in a game. There are lots of people around the 6 foot range who can dunk but not during most game situations unless they are completely wide open on a break away.
