Where was Devean George down the stretch? He played really solid defense as the starter, and then doesn't go back in when we need a wing defender in the 4th? You can't put Kidd on Joe Johnson and Barea/Terry on Bibby and expect that to work. Kidd with two huge sequences there at the end, though.

While you are bashing Williams, he is the reason the mavs almost lost. When he went out that is when Joe Johnson started scoring again. If u check the stats, JJ did not score but 6 points against Shawne. He should have stayed in the game.......

They shouldn't of came back, but Joe Johnson is Joe Johnson; and Bibby came in and knocked a perfectly contested shot too. Joe even made the BS he threw up in the closing seconds. Oh well, atleast we got the win. Barea has been playing fantastic these past few games, aren't we one of the hottest teams right now in the league. Another true test coming up: Manu, Timmy & Tony will be paying a visit to us on Tuesday. They are also a roll, let's continue to get it done.

I was at the game tonight and noticed some things:

1. Atlanta played very sloppy ball tonight granted it was back-to-back so that might have had something to do with it but they were pretty sloppy.
2. Barea was good and bad tonight but fortunately he was more good than bad.
3. The 3 guard thing needs to be used a little less starting to feel like Nellie is running the team again.
4. I know everyone likes to bash George and Williams but those guys can really play some defense.
5. Diop got a lot of horrible fouls called on him tonight but I guess when you have a reputation as a hacker you get a lot of fouls called on you.

We won't be able to beat the Spurs without Howard. Hopefully his ankle is 100% by Tuesday.

I've really been surprised by Williams' defense. If only he'd take it to the rack more offensively, he'd get more playing time; he's fairly good at that...3-point shooting, not so much.

I have also noticed the 3PT trigger that he has; but he also (as everyone else has stated) great defense & he rebounds hard.

Serious question, Why didn't Gerald Green get as much playing time as Barea/Wright when he started at the 2? Barea/Wright have been giving 25+ each game as a starter, Gerald about 8 minutes. Look at everyone that got a chance to start at the 2, they all have gotten more playing time than Green. It's true! Williams is a below average NBA player, I think he plays just because Rick knows him more than the others. Gerald Green has all-star potential, that's not something you can say about Williams/Barea/Wright or any of the "young" guys, not to mention he's 22.

Maybe it's just early and Green will get more playing time as the season progresses or maybe it'll be like Minnesota, anyways the Mavs can't let Gerald rot on the bench, he's too good and too young to let his talent go to waste.

Two questions.
1. Who's your favorite Mav again?
2. How is it that you haven't grasped that Gerald gets 0 PT, because he can't play defense?

He's only been here for a few months, he'll play eventually.
Yes, he can dunk but you need more than that to be an All-Star, which is why he isn't one yet.
Give it some time, meanwhile, there are 12 (not including Stack) other players on the team, we're on a winning streak again, so shut up and let some good times roll.

Gerald played really good defense on Kobe and T-Mac for the most part. I don't see how his defense is awful and it's beyond me why George and Williams are playing over him.

Green can stroke the ball too. He'll give you 40 if he's in the zone. He's a very good shooter when he plays with confidence but the Mavs are taking that away from him and he's forced up shots to stay in the game.
