It is because people are stupid and don't realize that a playoff system would make their stupid "bowls" even more significant and boost their ratings, the players should organize and go on strike.[/quote]
I disagree. If anything, the non participating bowls would lose most of their luster.... and ratings........which is where the majority of bowl participants play.
60 plus teams play in bowls. A playoff would involve at most eight teams. That leaves around 20 bowls in limbo. Too many dollars at stake for a lot of schools to miss out on.
