I mean he loves the spotlight and does things to make himself the main focus. For example if Brendon Morrow had 5 goals in the game Avery would point out that he assisted on 1 of them and make a big check to steal his thunder.

Just my .2 cents on it

Definitely more then just ADHD.

Why does it have to be mental problems. The guy is just a selfish prick who thinks his face on the cover of newspapers is good for the game. He left broadway, and now has to find different outlets to constantly be spoken of. He is a media whore, a selfish person, and an ass on top of that. C'mon, we have all met at least one person who was a selfish di*k for no reason, its just who they are

Well I think it's something he can't control. Like I mean he does stuff I think to hear his own voice and say what can I do this day/week/month and year to top what I did last time. I am no expert but I think it has to be something more then being just a egotistical/selfish loser. I mean there are athlete's/GM's/coaches and other hockey people that love the spotlight but they don't go overboard. Grapes (Cherry) used to be one of them but he calmed down and is no where near as bad as Avery.

I just think Avery needs some serious outside help by somebody quilified to do so. Please no Dr. Phil or any other fraud Dr.

This guy doesn't belong anywhere near the league. The comments he makes is disgusting. He continuously acts like an idiot, and who does it affect? There's children that watch and listens to the stuff he does infront of a camera. Get this guy out of the league before he makes his next idiotic comment.

How is there something wrong with the guy? Because he makes comments and acts like an idiot on the ice? Yeah okay.

This is why the NHL has the best role models for kids and it's a shame, because it isn't so much more popular in America. The 3 other sports have so much worse character issues in players that it makes this look like nothing.

Too bad, because kids in America should be looking up to players in the NHL rather than NBA, NFL and MLB stars.

I know what you're thinking. We're in the middle of a city, what's a hawk doing there?

Not trying to reach here, but ESPN can be partially blamed for this as well (not Avery, but the perception of the NHL right now). The only time the NHL is talked about anymore is when something like this happens. You actually had a brief moment when the Stanley Cup Finals were being discussed, but it's back to Avery (who also dominated most of the postseason talk if you remember).

It's amazing that while you do see stories about people being idiots in the other three leagues, that's not the only news they give you. I just don't understand what the NHL did to ESPN in the past to make them hate it so much to the point where they will go out of their way to ignore the good parts of the league. Instead, let's talk about Sean Avery, or keep showing video of Richard Zednik getting sliced in the throat.
