I like Torres but I really have to question the level of competition hes faced but I dont think its his fault. The lighter weight classes in MMA just arent very strong.

135 is a young weight class, but it is growing rapidly.

I don't agree at all about the lighter classes not being strong. IMO 145 and 155 are 2 of the deepest weight classes there is. 145 has Faber, Kid, Brown, Pulver, Garcia, Fabiano, Reis, and a host of solid Asian fighters. 155 is probably the deepest weight class there is right now.

Well Pulver is completely done as a fighter. 145 is solid though with Faber, Brown, Kid, Fabiano. Even guys like Curran are very solid.

I dont think 135 is good at all though. Tapia cant really do much of anything.

And I wasnt really referring to 155 as being weak. 155 is strong as hell and is probably my most enjoyable division. There are some very talented guys in that division.

1. Kid KOs Torres. What could Torres possibly do against him? Kid has him standing - ridic power in his right + stood with Masato in K-1, and would never get taken down.
2. A Kid vs Torres fight won't happen, IDT. There's too wide a margin between their fan basesss and stuff. It wouldn't be worth the payday for either fighter or organization when they could just stay with their respective orgs.
3. With the WECs willingness to poach from Shooto and DEEP, Hioki (who TKOd Sato last night) could be a serious opponent for Torres. That would be his biggest fight thus far.

People thought Tapia was a better striker too. With Torres' reach and jab, he would be able to strike with Kid IMO.

I think it would be a great fight, but I don't see Kid running through Torres on the feet or the ground. Kid has more power and is a better wrestler, but Torres has huge reach and much better jabs and kicks along with world class BJJ.

My point is that people tend to underrate Torres' strinking until they see it punching the face of the so called better striker.

Kid is a more powerful striker for sure, but I am not sure he is that much better. Torres has a sick jab, nastier kicks, and a ton of reach on Kid.
