Is Big Al an all-star this year?

Post#1 » by theGreatRC » Tue Dec 9, 2008 2:58 am

To me personally, I think he should at least be a reserve for Center.

It's a simple question:

Yes, no, maybe so?

Not right now. He needs to start grabbing double doubles more consistently again winning us games.

When we are a .500 team and he is putting up his usual numbers, he will be an all-star.

Yao is obviously the starter. Then after that, it's between Shaq, Biedrins, and Big Al.

Personally, I think Al is in.

No - I was really hoping, but he won't be on my ballot.

So who are you guys voting for at center? I don't think any of them have played exceptionally better than Al.

with mchale focusing on post play and with an added role for love I expect jefferson to improve greatly.

As a center, yes. Jefferson is second in PER among west conference centers, just behind Yao.

Nene and Bynum deserve some love as well though, both of whom are playing pivotal roles for contending teams. I would not be surprised if either made it over Big Al.

So far Al (and the whole team) hasn't shown much, if any, improvement over last year. He is putting up about the same numbers and the team still sucks. All of that can change by All Star time, of course, with Frankenstein as coach.

I said no, but now that I think about it, as a center, it's really hard to see anyone who is even remotely deserving over him regardless of the records. I think he might have to be in there, especially when the Wolves go on this 15-3 run coming up now.....lol

Danny Granger said it the other day. It all depends on the teams record by the All Star break. I voted in the future

First all-star scores are in and it's officially a big joke.

Al Jefferson is behind Yao, Shaq, Okur, Bynum, Oden and Biedrins.

I forgot it's a popularity contest and not an actual who's the best of the best.

I can't complain though, what Vega06 said about D-Granger's quote is so true.(except Biedrins behind in front of Al)

Everyone already knew that Yao was going to be the starter. So, we just have to hope that the coaches are more knowledgeable than the average fan and Big Al is in.

I don't think the coach's will even vote him in, they will look at the Laker's record and pick Bynum

nobody respects or even knows enough about what Al is doing in Minnesota

Al has no chance of being a starter in the all-star game for the west as long as his position is center.

Yao will start there as long as he remains in the league because all the chinese vote for him xD

A player of Minnesota has almost no chance of being a starter as long as this team is not one of the best teams in the league or he carries his team nearly alone into PO like KG did....so that people have to admit this player is better than the others...

Al won't be a reserve since those almost always come of winning teams...and we are a losing team...

I guess Tyson Chandler although putting up pretty bad numbers will be rather an allstar than ALJ

I don't think it will bother me much even if he didn't make it, because the all star game is turning into a huge joke. Seriously, Yi Jianlin almost has more votes than Garnett.

how could jefferson be behind Biedrens and Bynum?

and Yi Jianlian received more than 4 times of Al's vote total? that is ridiculous votings,....
