[Game 22] Atlanta Hawks at Houston Rockets Dec. 9th

Toyota Center

I'm sorry my thread is crappy lol

Atlanta Hawks Projected Lineup

PG- Mike Bibby
SG- Joe Johnson
SF- Marvin Williams
PF- Josh Smith
C- Al Horford

Houston Rockets Projected Lineup

ImageImageImageImageImage

PG- Rafer Alston
SG- Ron Artest
SF- Shane Battier
PF- Luis Scola
C- Yao Ming

Yao should dominate Al Horford tonight, no excuses.. Especially after last nights game.
If that doesn't happen I do not see us winning. They have a lot of scoring power. We still have more depth even with our depleted roster, though they run a lot more.

Join me in not letting Max make anymore game threads. Do the same for me if something happens this game.

Artest is playing tonight for sure?

The Hawks have been a different team this season, we can't underestimate them, and we have to stay on top of our game defensively. Like Memphis they can light us up at the 3 point line, lets hope we also bring it on the offensive end, PLEASE NO LUTHER!

Francis better play tonight, tire of seeing Head.

Horford may not be play as well, since he hurt his ankle during the weekend.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

I'd like to see some playing time from Francis, especially after how they played last night (mainly Head). As long as I don't see a bunch of shot jacking, turnover problems, and ball domination (which I highly doubt he does); I really don't mind him being out there.

During the game yesterday they said he was playing for sure today.

Oh and Francis is still out of shape, so i dont really care if he comes in or not.

I want to see that too but only if he is ready , if he is not then wait.
He will get only one chance imo so I want it to be when he is ready.

He is ready, there was a whole article in the chronicle about this a couple of weeks ago. He said he is ready and has 100% confident in himself, but Adelman said a week or two ago that he needs to participate in practices and work his way up, I'm sure hes doing fine. But after the display of Head last night, I'd say anything is better overall.

A couple things to watch in this game:

1. Yao's pick-and-roll defense: Bibby is a master of shooting off the dribble. Remember his performance against the Lakers in 2002, which occurred in large part because Shaquille O'Neal will never come out and challenge the ballhandler on a P&R. I can see Bibby going off for 25+ tonight simply by dribbling off screens and shooting. Rafer and Brooks will have to fight hard through screens, and Yao will need to work harder on P&R defense than he usually does.

2. Yao ate Horford for lunch the last time they played, but right now this Yao is a shell of what he was last year. He needs to replicate his last year's performance against the Hawks for the Rockets to have a chance minus Artest and McGrady.

I think he said he is 100% healthy and ready physically , but still needs to get his timing back and get into game shape.
I hope we see him tonight but I highly doubt it.

We're playing Head in hopes that he does something good and somebody will want to give us more than $20 bucks for him. Morey's a smart guy...i dont think he'll let head go for less than that. =/

I just find it sad how an undrafted player (Wafer) is performing at a much higher level than a veteran player drafted in the first round (Head). That said it's going to be a tough game as ATL is pretty good this year. With all our injuries they are going to abuse our backcourt.

Head is still on the Rockets because the best offer we will get is a 2nd rounder from an average team , we are better off to use him as insurance and thats what we are doing.
Closer to the deadline I can see us trading him for a 2nd rounder to free up money.

Anyway, if Yao decided to play tough and start attacking early, then we will have a chance. Would he again hesitates and turns over the ball early, we dig a huge hole early in the game, then no way we win this game.
