Randy Foye 46th in PER amongst Point Guards, Telfair is 60th

Love is 26th in PER amongst PFs, but 34th in usage rate. Of the 33 guys higher than him in usage rate, he has a better PER than 17 of them.

Mayo 13th in usage rate among SGs, but 52nd in assist rate BOOOOOOOOO (Mike Miller is #2... USA!) and Mayo 52nd in Turnover Rate BOOOOOO! Even worse than Iverson BOOOOO. Mayo 31st in rebound rate BIZNOOOOOO!!! (Mike Miller #3, overall - high 5)

Al Jefferson 39th among centers in assist rate.... 31st in true shooting percentage 28th in offensive rebound rate? That one surprised me, I thought he was a better offensive rebounder than defensive rebounder, but his DRR is way higher (9th)

McCants 41st among SG in PER, 57th in true shooting %, and yet 8th overall in usage %. (which explains why he 62nd in assist rate)
Remember when he came into the NBA and declared he was going to try to average 10 assists a game? Fibs.

P.A. on KFAN was on the air when the Wittman news came down. He made a few interesting off the cuff remarks, but his stuff on Mayo was maybethe most interesting to me. It went something like:

"I understand in a world of fantasy sports, how people can get all excited when Mayo puts up 30 points on 50% shooting. But these people usually haven't watched him play. I've seen him six times so far, and the next time he makes the other players on the court better will be the first time. I don't think anyone can say at this point that the Mayo for Love and Mike Miller trade was a bad one by McHale."

Sam Smith has said practically the same thing about Mayo. That his game is unbelievably selfish and he can't see him ever being on a winning team. And unlike his trade musings, when Sam talks about actual basketball, he is usually on point.
