Maurice Brooks = useless analyst?

Look at his current "NBA Awards Watch":

Coach of the Year Watch:
- he has Lawrence Frank at #1, and Erik Spoelstra at #3, but Gregg Popovich and Phil Jackson are nowhere to be found . . .

Defensive Player of the Year Watch:
- he has Marcus Camby at #3 and Ben Wallace at #5, but Tim Duncan doesn't even make the list, and KG is down at #4

Most Valuable Player Watch:
- Tim Duncan all the way down at 10th? He's putting up fantastic stats (a PER of 26.4, and he's playing 35.3 MPG), he's playing the same amazing d he always plays, and his Spurs have overachieved (they're a solid 12-8 despite the injuries to Parker and Manu).

Rookie of the Year Watch:
- Russell Westbrook is shooting .367 from the field, .250 from 3, and has an A/TO ratio of 1.5:1, but he ranks #3, while guys like Marc Gasol, Rudy Fernandez and Brook Lopez don't even make his list?


Does this guy just have zero basketball knowledge, or am I missing some hidden genius behind his rankings?

I don't think he does that bad. I agree with most of his stuff. Kobe too high on that list, Duncan too low, and Westbrook is indeed way off.
