Post#1 » by Da Schwab » Thu Dec 11, 2008 1:27 am

Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow were the three players invited to NYC for Saturday's Heisman Trophy presentation.

Who I want to win it? Tebow

Who I think deserves it the most? Bradford

Who I think will win it? McCoy

So yeah, I basically got them all covered :D

Agreed.

Graham Harrell not getting an invite is an absolute travesty considering how good he played all year.

That's what I thought. And, if I could invite two more guys it would Harrell and Crabtree.

Tebow's statistics are overshadowed by those of more prolific Big 12 passers such as McCoy, Bradford and Texas Tech's Graham Harrell. But if the award were determined by strength of schedule, Tebow would be a landslide winner. In 13 games this season, Tebow faced eight of the country's top-30 defenses. In those eight games, Tebow completed 63 percent of his passes with 18 touchdowns and no interceptions. Nine of his 12 touchdown runs also came against top-30 defenses. Conversely, Bradford faced only two of the country's top-30 defenses, and nine that ranked 66th or worse. McCoy didn't face a defense ranked better than 65th and had his way with eight defenses ranked 86th or worse.

My votes would go

1 - Tebow
2 - McCoy
3 - Bradford

I think, based on what I've read it'll go to McCoy, though. I see Tebow getting the most 1st place votes but also the most 3rd and lower. I see 2nd place votes carrying McCoy.

^^
Agreed. Big 12 defenses are a joke. Even on a down year, SEC defenses remain the best in the country(with the exception of USC, Penn State and others)

Normally I couldn't care less about the Heisman. But I really like all three of these guys and the fact that you can make a legit case for each of them makes this a pretty intriguing year.

I think Bradford also gets the honor of being the dopiest looking bastard to get the Heisman since Ricky Williams.

Again, Colt McCoy gets robbed.

Here's what the voting looked like:

Sam Bradford, Oklahoma 300 315 196 1,726
Colt McCoy, Texas 266 288 230 1,640
Tim Tebow, Florida 309 207 234 1,575
Graham Harrell, Texas Tech 13 44 86 213
Michael Crabtree, TTU 3 27 53 116
Shonn Greene, Iowa 5 9 32 65
Patrick White, West Virginia 3 1 8 19
Nate Davis, Ball State 0 1 8 10
Rey Maualuga, USC 2 1 1 9
Javon Ringer, Michigan St. 1 0 5 8

Tebow gets the most 1st place votes, and finishes 3rd overall... ugh.
