How long before Sean Williams is traded?

Post#1 » by BigWil17 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 11:52 pm

I say he's gone by the end of this year. So if there was a pool, i'd pick December 30th as the day he's out of here.

I say this mainly because of his attitude issues when he's not playing. Check netsdaily.com to see where I'm coming from.

He also apparently asked to not have his option picked up. We don't need this bad attitude on the team (especially as a young big when we have depth at that spot).

So I say thorn's probably waiting for dec 15th for the free agents that signed to become viable for trades, and he's out of here on the 30th.

I could possibly see a Keyon Dooling, Swat and Boone for Conley and Warrick.

Why??? we could use a backup PG, and Warrick is atlethic and has a brain, we could use him more than that bum Williams.

Although i would not like to trade Boone.

Can Swill play C?

I liked what I saw last season (sorry I'm a Heat fan). I thought he'd turn into a good NBA player but this season he gets as many F's as mins.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

We're not interested in the Belinelli-Swat trade anymore. Marco has played great ball the past two games now that he's gotten the opportunity.

13 pts on 6-7fg in 18 minutes against OKC
15 pts on 5-7fg in 20 minutes against MIL

Also great ballhandling and playmaking. We're holding on this guy lest he be part of a bigger deal that brings us something good.

You think Eddy Curry could help you guys at all? How about Eddy Curry, and Anthony Roberson for Sean Williams and B. Simmons?

You must be drunk. Eddy Curry will be no where near this team ever. I don't hate him as much as I hate the thought of Mark Blount in a Nets uni...but it's damn close.

lol i didnt know it was that bad. I mean his value is obviously at an all time low, but part of that is just because he doesnt fit into the Knicks system, and on top of that he is injured. When healthy he is still a nice offensive center. Now his defense? lol well we want talk about that. Still you'd be getting him for 2 players that probably arent in the nets future.

I can understand if the nets didnt want him, but I wouldnt think it would be an insulting trade proposal.

I don't know how many people would be insulted, but it's just personal preference with me. He's one of 5 nba players I can say I hate (Your new fellow Knick Tim Thomas is on the list too). If he was an expiring, you may get management to think for a nanosecond before declining, but he's not so it's a no brainer to decline.

When Nets move Sean, they'll definitely plan on getting a young swing man in return, not another big man.

SW aggressiveness is down from last year...his activeness and energy is also down from a year ago...I still like to see some more games from him, but at this point there obviously others who can probably contribute more...he's becoming more of a project than originally thought...his raw basketball talent has not been evident on the floor, while playing with an extreme amount of hesistation and or indecisiveness...

^^^^ He's been playing out of his mind the last week. Either they're showcasing him or finally giving him the green light to shoot at will when he's on the court.

Belinnelli had a 20 pt game, then, last game.led GSW with 25,and he's emerged as a legit PG candidate. Lately Belli looks more like the PG than Crawford.
GSW never wanted Sean Williams anyhow. He's just the sort Nellie would not work well with, and even if Nellie's gone....looking at his numbers this year....it does not scream out "must have".

Showcasing? Probably not. GSW has, in Maggette-Jackson-Crawford, 3 scorers who each scored 20+ last year, are mobile, have a few flaws and cost $8-10 mill. Not a bad price for a 20 pt guy....but at least one and maybe 2 are redundant. Belinnelli, Azubuike,Morrow have each been over 20 pt more than once and show the ability to do so if played. Each is young and low $. Thus....keepers.

I suspect GSW is gettng ever closer to parting ways with Don Nelson. If so, they may not want to be hasty making trades when the next coach might favor a bit different mix.

I said before.....for NJ to get something from GSW, the bait should be Ryan Anderson. Sean Williams might appeal to some other team.
CENSORED... No comment.

Old Rem, you are in denial.

GS did want to do a Sean Williams for Belinelli swap.

Your FO offered it and never publicly denied it.

Thorn confirmed it.

I wish what you're saying is true, because I would have loved to have Belinelli on this team.

One of Thorn's few F-ups.
