don't care if it doesn't get a lot of posts.

deserves its own thread.

will youtube at some point, or i imagine someone else will and you can post it up.

hopefully this means his jumpshot is back for the rest of the year.

Whoop whoop. Its about time Melo found that jumper. We've been waiting on this for a while.

Can't wait to watch the replay tonight.

What an effort. And this was not exactly a great game up until this explosion.

he was awesome...it was just awesome to watch and left me speechless...nobody could stop him and he even said the basket was like the ocean and he was just throwing it in. If this marks him being back, the nuggets are absolutely for real and everybody should watch out.

He sure was, he started out 1-6 from the floor. I remember in the second quarter he got the ball on the baseline and instead of settling for the 15 foot jumper he took it in strong and finished with an impressive dunk.

To start the 3rd he took it in strong again, got hammered, no call, his quick second jump got him his own put back and from there it was on. Driving and getting to the charity stripe is what got him going though.

I am glad to see that flu bug he had (jumpshotitis) is cured.

Man. Haven't seen a Nugget explode like that in a single quarter since Vo dropped 23(ish?) in the 1st in Golden State a few years ago. Sad thing is, I don't think he even broke 30 that night.

Fun to be in the stands tonight, the crowd was going nuts.

Awesome to watch. Congrats, Melo. Nice to see you come out of your scoring slump.

that was so much fun to watch, he just kept pouring in the points. i might be wrong, but had he even scored 33 points in a game before tonight? it was truly amazing to see though and it was relieving to finally see Melo have the offensive game he deserved at this point. (and you still gotta love the double double :) )

He's had a couple of 40+ point games before. It's the explosion in one quarter that is somewhat new. Even JR mentioned he noticed it....Melo usually accumulates his points throughout a game.

George Gervin on April 9, 1978 had 33 in a quarter, and Dave Thompson had 32 on the same day in 1978....Melo tied Gervin.

If your referring to this season, melo's highest was 30 points in a game.
Now if you mean ever, like meloivynene was saying, his career high is 49.
I do believe he has scored close to or exactly 30 in a quarter once before, tho.

that went from the worst game i've seen from a while from the Nuggs (the first half was atrocious) to one of the best games i've ever seen.

As soon as he took that sleeve off in after the 1st quarter he looked much better, and his shooting percentage went up to 65% for the rest of the game.

It was a beautiful sight to see Melo go off like that. The thing I liked was that everybody (outside of Ac) on the Nuggets seemed to be feeding Melo while he was so hot, and even cheering for him to get more (the fact that Chauncey was pushing him to get 50 is a telling story on the new makeup of this team). For the 1st time in years there was no one ignoring Melo, refusing to play defense because of touches, or worried about getting their shots regardless of the effect on the team.

I did find AC's chucking a little humorous in the 4th. As if we want him taking those shots ever, much less when a guy's that hot.

It was surreal. I have never seen anything like it in my 32 years. He just seemed to move so much faster than anyone else. Like they were in water and he was running on dry land. The thing that struck me was how he got those 33. Inside, outside, midrange, steals, rebounds, tip-ins. He was simply everywhere.

It is the stuff I buy season tickets to see. Man was that cool.

On a side note, how great is it that they kept finding him (sans AC). And Chauncey in his ear tellling him to keep going. Totally selfless. The only stat he cares about is W-L, and it had infected the whole team. Just like lackidasical play, taking short cuts, and simple I-dont-give-crapedness is infectious, so has been Chauncey's professionalism, cool under pressure, win-at-all-costs mentality. God I love watching them play. I thought that feeling was gone, and man did I miss it.
