As far as McGrady's rehab work-or lack thereof-Richard Justice(certainly no huge fan of McGrady's)wrote that the Rockets were satisfied w/McGrady's seriousness in rehabbing this time compared to previous lackluster work in the past. The Rockets medical staff didn't clear McGrady for 100% weightlifting until after training camp started.
Could McGrady worked harder at rehab? Who knows. We do know Battier overdid his rehab and was lost for a month. Hindsight being 20/20 it looks like when McGrady complained of pain in camp the team should have completely shut him down til mid-Nov when the original estimate of 6 months would have been up and then get him ready for early Dec.
It should be kept in mind that when McGrady was complaining of pain in his knee last season the Rockets brushed him off, saying it was something minor. When he kept complaining they finally took a detailed look and discovered, yes,he did have serious damage.
Personally,I believe Wade's comments about his knee scared the s*** out of McGrady and he went into full panic mode.
I'm also a tad concerned about the Rockets medical team. While their strength and conditioning coach spent the summer w/Yao,Battier was screwing his rehab,McGrady's was obviously not handled properly and Morey stated they had no clue how Rafer would respond until Sept.

Nah Shay, McGrady has been my favorite player since 2000; I know this dude like a hat, he IS a mentally weak player. When injuries happen to McGrady he complains and whines in a way that makes him look VERY weak, it might be hurting him, but come on man show us some mental preparation and male dominance; its always been this way (especially since '04 with the Magic).

It's just that the Rocket's training and medical staff aren't first class but more of bargains because the Rockets have a budget they have to meet and are some how unable to exceed. You know why Keith Jones wasn't fired long ago? Because he's cheap and probably paid significantly less than say the Laker's trainer. The Rocket's budget is consumed by the payroll of TMac, Yao, and Artest. They are well worth it and I hope neither one of these guys get traded. They should use their own wealth to get training and medical attention the Rockets are unable to provide. I love TMac, Yao, Artest, Battier and company and want to see these guys win a championship together.

I agree with you and I have been a T-Mac fan since those days too , he is not so strong mentally but he did play through injuries before in his career
