Not to someone who's had season tickets for the last five years, and has been going to just about every Nets game since I was five. Move them to Brooklyn, go right ahead, I'll stay in Jersey. Heck, might even go to some Knicks games now, since they'll be closer after all.
I doubt any of you actually realize how much of the Nets fan base they're going to lose by moving to Brooklyn; and I also think most of you are much too optimistic in the thought that New Yorkers are just going to flock over to the Nets since they're now (back) in New York. It doesn't matter what borough their from, if they're basketball fans, they're most likely Knicks fans, and they aren't going to change. And if they're not basketball fans? Well, then if that's what you're counting on that they magically become fans, then there's my point exactly.
The reason why the IZod center is empty most of the time is for lots of reasons: A) attendance is down in other places as well, signifying that the economy is playing apart in it; B) Bruce Ratner had all intentions of moving them out of Jersey from the get go, so why would people even bother rooting for them anymore; and C) IZod stinks. Move them to the Rock, and Nets attendance will go up with time.
