However, I still wouldnt pick Yao as the best player, maybe he disappoints too much. I guess I just dont see how we can get anywhere with how he plays.

Who is better then? There is a best player on the Rockets, and I simply don't think Artest or McGrady are better at this point. Both have played worse than Yao.

-Inconsistency on both ends (Especially from Yao, who the media and some posters call the best player on this team).

-Defensively we aren't moving as well as we did last season, our bench players have the tendency of going on and off. Transition defense has been somewhat terrible compared to last season

-The offensive execution doesn't happen when needed. We aren't moving on the offensive end like we're suppose too.

-Ron's offensive game isn't effective enough because the spacing he requires gets clogged up in the middle due to Yao (one of the reasons that last play against Indiana ended so poorly)

-Injuries are still a big question mark throughout the season

There is still a lot of work to be done on this team before we say this team is good enough to be a contender. No, and at this stage, this team is questionable to even be out of the first round. Again, this more or so all is on McGrady and how well his conditioning goes these next 3 weeks, as always we are going to have to ask Mr. McGrady to be our savor in the 2nd half of the season. Let's hope he comes back in good shape, because we all saw on TV the .30 winning percentage without Mac, and .51 winning percentage without Yao.

Personally i find that percentage misleading as a number.

If you look into it, you would remember this simple fact

When Yao is out, who was his backup? Deke who during those times could of started for many other teams. You lose offensive shots, but his defense picks up.

When T-mac is out, who is our starting SG..........Luther fking Head.............

Tell me which, player is going to have a bigger impact?

However this year, if we lose Yao in the middle, we are going to see Chuck Hayes start for us in the Center, even with T-mac leading the team, we are going to lose alot more games.

Personally i think Yao gets too much attention on the loss and win record when T-mac is out.

But the bottom line is when both Yao and T-mac play our record is astonishing. Too bad both can't be healthy, i predict as soon as T-mac comes back, Yao will be injured.

In the midst of chaos, I can't believe we have guys who are arguing whether Yao is better than McGrady or vice versa.

Now, where are the DMMMJJWM-OFs at?

If Yao gets injured(hopefully he wont) but when will sign Deke ASAP, he is just waiting on a phone call.

And you are right people need to look at the bigger picture, how can the rockets find a way to play without certain players

Yao currently is the best player statistically on the team yes, but if we can't get the "W" when it matters, I'm not necessarily agreeing with the impact he provides on the court.

One thing is for sure: if yao/the team figures out how to beat fronting, then we are good for a run in the playoffs.
