The New York Daily News reports that the Braves are "preparing a five-year offer for A.J. Burnett."
Atlanta is apparently still in the market for a front-line starter even after dealing for Javier Vazquez and could be the front-runners for Burnett if other teams balk at a five-year commitment.

I knew it was going to happen, but I don't like our chances, and the Yankees can easily beat any offer we make. We know that's common sense.

atl could not obtain him cuz of geography, nothing else....his wife hates flying and they live in maryland...maryland drive to NYC is 3 hours, Maryland drive to Atl is i dont know but a lot longer than that
