Aaron Brooks-What happened?

Post#1 » by ZitPopper » Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:55 pm

After Brooks was doing such an awesome job earlier in the season, I traded for him in a Strat league I'm in. Here recently he hasn't been shooting nearly as well. Is he injured, in a funk, or did he just play over his head earlier? Is the mid December Brooks the real one, or is he really what we're seeing now?

What kind of stats do you think he'll put up from here on out? I actually had hopes of him being the first guard off the bench on my team, but I'd love to see more production out of him. Thanks for any info.

inconsistent just like last season
beginning of the season, most team don't know how he played (no scout report on him)
now they know they start to pay more attention on him

Do you think he'll be able to develop consistency, or do you feel he'll be streaky for most of his career?

he can improve his consistency but he's not going to be a starter in this league
his game is based of his speed
there's no way he can go at that speed for 36 mpg

It's so frustrating to watch him put up empty stats and get his ass handed on defense.

You must have a really deep league. Brooks just isn't going to get enough consistent minutes to give you enough in most fantasy leagues.

21 games.
Only last 5 or so has he really dropped off. That's an insignificant number that'll happen with any player. Still, see above.

Rick Adelman kept replacing him with Brent Barry so he stopped caring.

It's a Strat-o-matic keeper league, so I'm hoping Brooks develops probably as much as you Rockets fans are. :) I'm really rooting for the kid, but his size and inconsistency may limit his career somewhat. The inconsistency can be ironed out in time though, so here's hoping he manages to do so.
