Jared Dudley

Post#1 » by rsavaj » Thu Dec 11, 2008 8:43 pm

We all know what J-Rich can(3s, dunks) and can't do(defend, create his own shot adequately off isos), but the real puzzle here, to me, is Jared Dudley. I've honestly never seen the guy play, but he's pretty good in NBA 2K8 :-D.

If you guys know anything about him, post it here.

Some scouting reports:

He sounds like shorter, blacker Lou Amundson.

JRich can do a hell of a better job in creating his own shot. Bells D has fallen and is not what it used to be.

Dudley i think is a great move by Kerr. I watched him a lot when he was at BC. Solid all around player. Hes kind of like melo/peirce, not athletic, but long and can score. Not as good as them either, but can be a solid player. High Bball IQ who can be a solid role player at the 3 for us.

He is nothing close to Lou Amundson. He can shoot and is a much better player.

Posey with a better offensive game.

Slightly above average. decent one on one, rotations and stuff get tricky for him.

Thing is, we're gonna try and play him at the FOUR, and he's like 6'7 and a half... :| . I do like the move though, because next season, we were left with NO SF's (Barnes and Hill off the book). Dudley can step in as the starter if needed..

Ryan Gomes - book it.

So I think we got a guy who can defend bigger 2s, some 3s, and some 4s...If he can get that 3 shot consistently then he might be battling Barnes for the prime backup for 3/4

Comparison to Shane Battier seemed tight to me. I remember that he had promise from Spurs to be drafted, so maybe they saw a replacement for aging Bowen in him - and you now Spurs were often right with their picks.

Hard nosed enthusiastic guy. Good comedian. Great BB Iq, anticipation - which gets him rebounds he otherwise wouldn't have because of his limited athleticism. He does all those little things. Has some range, solid shot but he is more defender than an offensive thread. Both he and Jason shoud have no problem with chemistry, they are great guys.
