Just wondering, I think the media would never let it go. Would Shaq make another rap?

25th is a nice game but it's gonna get overhyped here like crazy. If the Lakers win it doesn't mean they're instantly better than the Celtics and they're ready for coronation. If the Celtics win it doesn't mean that the Lakers cannot possibly beat them and the only thing stopping them from repeating are the Cavs.

But you better believe the next day people will be reading why too much into the game.

If the Lakers win that game it's going to be because the Celtics let them win or because the Celtics beat themselves, if the Lakers lose that game it's because Boston dominated them and Kobe sucks...

Sounds like someone's pouty about the Celtics. Did you ever stop to think there's probably truth between two incredibly biased sets of opinions or no?

^ You're missing the point. ^

Kobe Bryant (and by extension the Lakers) can never do anything right according to the vast majority of RealGM...

Plus, his words went a long way toward explaining the Lakers' recent public dissatisfaction with their play. They know they must play better and more efficiently than they have recently in order to achieve their goal of winning a championship. "We'll beat the good teams," Bryant said. "It's Boston that's our barometer. That's the team that beat us. They're the standard. They're the benchmark. That's the team that beat us, so that's how it's going to be." Los Angeles Daily News

Maybe you all need a more thought provoking issue like.....let's find someone to punch KG's lights out and devote 12 or 13 pages to it with profound thought to it.....      8-)

Still I ask, what is the question or purpose of this thread? Am I missing something or did you just post a quote from Kobe for no reason? Has the GB been reduced to just posting random quotes from players with no question or point attached from the OP?

Ok......if I must ask a question to make some happy.......here goes.....

Do you agree with Kobe? Are the C's the standard, the benchmark which to judge ones team or is it the Cav's with King James or is it really The Lakers, and Kobe is playing mind games. What do YOU think?
or is it another team?

There is your question...... 8-)

Well the Celtics won the championship last year and have the best record in the NBA, the only other team you can argue as being the standard for other teams to emulate is the San Antonio Spurs since they've been so damn good for so long, instead of like the Celtics being irrelevant for a decade then being good...

Obviously they are. Did you just want someone to make you feel good about your team or something?
