Advice on a Host

Post#1 » by MichaelHopcroft » Sun Jun 24, 2007 7:02 pm

I am coming to be commissioner of the HFFL, a 12-team fantasy league from members of the discussion forums of the RPG publisher Hero Games. We used the NFL.com service ast year and were happy with it, but it's not clear yet what sort of system they are using to set up their leagues this season, or what they will charge.

Therefore, I need to explore alternatives, just in case. We would need live scoring first and foremost -- because one of the principal pleasures of the league was following the games in progress and seeing teams pull off seemingly incredible comebacks. Of coursee, on NFL.com the score lines looked a lot more like basketball scores than football scores, but such is life.

Well Yahoo allows you to set up a league and basically set the scoring the way that you want it to be. Depending on the way the league is set up however, there can be some really high scoring leagues and also some more realistic scroing leagues. Only problem with playing on yahoo is that you have to pay to keep the real-time scoring feature after the first week. Hope this information gives you a little bit of help.

That's because NFL.com's scoring is provided by CBS, who does scoring for NBA as well....

But, you're gonna be hard-pressed to find a Fantasy Football game which does live-scoring for you free...
Other than that, I think the best option is ESPN.com... I love their draft interface and roster management interface (although they have been very buggy over the past couple of years)
