Enough Ced: Cedric Benson believes he could have gained 1,800 yards if he had the holes to run through that Forte has had this season, the former Bears running back told NFL.com.

"He's having a great year, but when I see the highlights, I see holes," Benson, now with the Bengals, told writer Thomas George. "I see them using him in the slot, something they didn't do with me. If I was there right now, with the holes I see, I probably would have 1,800 yards right now. I definitely would have 1,500 by now. I congratulate him on his success. He is taking advantage."

ha ha. I heard them mention this on the Score yesterday. What is great is that with that comment he's not only throwing his former linemen under the bus, but also he's throwing his current linemen under the bus as well - as I'm pretty sure he's not on a 1,800 yard pace. Even if you were to project it over 16 games.

I think he means he'd have 1800 yards on his career if he saw the holes Forte has this year.

I will actually agree with Benson in that he often didn't see the holes Forte is now seeing. HOWEVER - Benson didn't have the vision or moves that Forte has to do something when the holes were there. It was almost like he was aiming for defenders when he got past the d-line. Throw in the fact that he couldn't pick up a blitz and his attitude was garbage. Move on, Benson. Move on before we get Thomas Jones to punch you in the face again.

Benson stunk. He was a power runner that couldn't pick up an extra yard after first contact on most plays. That's pathetic. He had no elusiveness or burst to break off long runs, and he couldn't push guys around.

So far, there isn't a single thing that I've seen Benson do that I wouldn't say Forte is already better at.

Pass protection - Forte
Power running - Forte
Elusiveness - Forte
Receiving out of the backfield - Forte
Attitude - Forte

Benson's a joke.
