People are always gonna underate Wolves players
Kevin Garnett was underated most of his time here, now its looking like the same will go for Big Al.
Not to mention, it looks like no matter what Randy Foye and Kevin Love do, nobody notices. These two especially have really stepped up lately. Kevin Love's rebounding has been awesome, and Foye has been getting to the basket, getting free throws and scoring points. Yet still nobody relizes it. You go over on the General Boards, or the Trade Board and people are still saying how bad the Mayo Love trade looks. I understand that Foye and Love have big shadows to live up to in Roy and Mayo, but give a break. Kevin Love is now averaging 9.3 ppg, 7.8rpg in under 25 mpg. It will be a lot harder for Foye just because Roy has been playing so well. Im just wondering what it would actually take for the guys to get some recognition.

Re: People are always gonna underate Wolves players
we need some W's, that's the only thing that overshadows points to the general public
People don't care about Love's double doubles, they want PPG. Can't really blame them, that's what you get when you have a bad track record, you don't get a benefit of the doubt. Plus Mayo's a great shooter, you can't go wrong with that. But we got an equally great shooter in return, plus some financial relief. And I know people aren't trying to hear this, but I still think it's important to make sure you're getting a long-term commitment if you want to develop championship chemistry, and I don't think anybody in the FO was confident in getting that from Mayo.

Re: People are always gonna underate Wolves players
Foye had been pretty nice lately but he will have to keep this up or do something remarkable to get any attention. The wolves are getting their butts kicked day in and day out so nobody has anything to say about us. We don't win games, nobody put up spectacular numbers, and we aren't athletic or flashy. Unless someone makes it a point to follow our team they probably don't know that we do have what little talent we got.
I was watching NBA on TNT and they were talking about the worst teams. They kept saying that OKC, Sacramento, and Memphis had young talent and they will be good. The Wolves didn't even come to their mind when it came to that. We were just one of the crap teams.

Yeah, but he's actually a Wolves fan, not just an unbiased member of the media.

Yea Kamla is a fanboy. It would be like having me up there. I'd always rep the wolves.

I was watching NBA TV as I was reading this topic and heard him say, "The San Antonio Spurs versus my Wolves!"
He always sounds so enthusiastic.

Forget Foye and Love... Jefferson doesn't get enough props.

I think if we won a championship we'd get at least a little bit of respect.

Re: People are always gonna underate Wolves players
Love's not even in the top 10 in the nba.com rookie rankings, and they came out shortly after his 29 rebounds in two games. Rudy Fernandez is 5th with 11 ppg, 3 rpg, 1 apg, Brook Lopez is 8th with identical numbers to Love, Jason Thompson is 10th with 9 ppg, 6rpg, 1apg. They even put Love behind Courtney Lee who is averaging a massive 4 ppg, 1 rpg, 0 apg. WHERE'S THE LOVE DAMMIT!?

It's amazing what 20ppg can help you overcome.

Re: People are always gonna underate Wolves players
He wrote one sentence mentioning Al, and a paragraph on Love and Foye. Then southern wolf, 4ho5ive, and you started talking about the rookies in particular. So yes, I have been reading the thread, thanks for asking.
