He's going to break the record of 14 hr's in April!

Pretty impressive.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Wow, a guy with almost 480 career homers is good at hitting homers!

Just tied Pujols for HRs in April, I have a slight feeling he may break it.

Well he's on pace for 125 HRs, 240 Runs, and 300 RBIs.

Yeah, there's a small chance he won't keep up that pace, but seriously, this might be the best 18 game stretch for any hitter ever.

If ARod can hit 74 home runs, he will be baseball's all time super hero for wiping Bonds off the record books.

If he can stay healthy, he will definitely pass Bonds for the all time mark as well. Of course, staying healthy and productive for another 8 years isn't exactly a given.

I wouldn't go that far. Players have had streaks like this before, just not to start a season where everything is magnified times a hundred.

Just looking back to last year and Chipper Jones' XBH-streak, he was better over 18 games.

You and your damn baseball reference. Also I'm sure Bonds has had a better stretch.

Doug
Yeah I think A Rod will eventually cool down and the fans in NY will beg the organization to trade him.

The new features are basically crack.

Also, yeah. Barry Bonds started the season with a 1.999 OPS through his first 18 games in 2004. Haha.

If he can hit 74 AND beat Bonds' record for walks in a season, THEN i'll be impressed.

if he had the kind of protection bonds had then he might get approach the walks record but he's surrounded by all stars and hall of famers so he will likely not be pitched around that often.

Eh, I doubt it, A-Rod's career high in walks is 100, Bonds' record 232. Thats a good ways off.

Can A-Rod win the triple crown???

Right now he's lapped the field in HR and RBI. Of course the toughest for him would be to keep his BA lead.

I don't follow Baseball, but he must be a ballhog, he gets his stats, and his team loses
