Don't you know I'm rich bitch?!
Seriously, I read from a void of his contract to... Now this with Maggette. And Ainge supposedly had an interest in him as a free agent signing. What gets me is when a team foolishly signs a player to a bad contract and then believes that another equally dumb owner will bail them out. You can't just throw money at a problem. And I'm not even going to go into all the talented players that have pass through the Warriors over the years. Man, incompetence has to be the richest thing going in this country.
I wonder if a capable general manager laughs to himself in private. You have to. It's funny and that's what's sad. It isn't good for the NBA. Stupidity, that is. What else could you call it? Desperate. But, even desperate people have common sense, so you think.
Sometimes, I wonder what makes a Ellis or a Roethlisberger or a Winslow, Jr. endanger themselves and put their careers in possible jeopardy for a quick thrill or brief moment of fun.
I heard my first concrete rumblings this week that the Warriors are indeed prepared (yes, so soon) to part with their big free-agent signee, hard as it figures to be to move Corey Maggette in the first season of a five-year, $50 million contract. Maggette is one of the 90 guys who becomes eligible to be traded Monday. ESPN.com
First things first: The notion of trading Ellis "has not" been discussed in any way, shape or form, according to Ellis' agent, Jeff Fried. And that probably stands to reason, given that no team in its right mind would take on a $66 million, six-year obligation to a fellow who tore up his ankle in a moped accident. ESPN.com
