You have to laugh at this point because its the only thing that will keep you from banging your head into a wall. Taps is a EJ clone, who actually may be a worse coach when it comes to rotations. Did any of you happen to see Taps comments on Stevenson in the Post to the fact that Deshawns a vet, so no matter how he's playing he's going to get the nod because he's a vet. Thats basically Taps admitting theirs going to be zero accountability for the vets. This sort of mentality has become cancerous to this team. What kind of message is that sending to the youngs (McGee, Blatche, McGuire, Young, Critten) that no matter how well you play your not going to get over 20 minutes because they belong to the vets. Im sure all of you will agree to me that this is becoming a serious problem. Jamsion the other day is bitching about how players dont seem to care, especially young players, quite frankly why would they? The coachs have them all on short leashes, they dont get rewarded for playing well, and even when they do play well they usually get yanked for a vet instead of riding the hot hand. Why don't you show your leadership Twan and sacrifice some of your minutes for the youngs.
McGee has been thrown under the bus, he makes one mistake and he's gone. Even when he plays great, like the other night when he helped us get back somewhat in the Celtics game he gets yanked. People on this board are talking about how McGee gets backed down yadda yadda yadda, but obviously the likes of Song, Etan, and Jamison have done nothing to stop any imposing bigmen. Even if they do stand their ground which is a rarity, other big man usually shoot over there undersized asses. I'd rather have McGee getting backed downed, then watch any of those other D it up. Young has obviously done something wrong, because he's beginning to get shut out even worse then McGee, which is sad because him and Dixon have been our best guards by far. Critten will probably continue to get DNP-Coach's Decisions all season long despite the fact nobody else getting minutes in the back court really plays worth a damn. If I was Young I'd consider it a major slap to the face the Mike James just got here and he's trusted more already. Blatche has played better as of late, but Taps still doesn't seem to want to give him anything over 20 minutes. The only other young player to really have his time increased as time has gone on is McGuire, and thats up to a whopping 10-11 mpg.
This season is officially over in my mind. Even if Gil came back at New Years he wouldn't be able to dig us out of a 13 game under .500 hole through almost 20 games. Without Haywood that would make the task even tougher. I think were going to continue to see this trend of young players getting the shaft over whiney vets who claim to be leaders, yet lack the stones to call out their sucky play and want to blame it own some young guys who laugh after the game who are not really that accountable for the loss based on the fact that their barely playing. Only hope at this point is once were 20 games under, which is sad cause I hate rooting against the Wiz, and Ernie orders Taps to play all five of our young guns. Next Stevenson and Etan's butts shipped out of here. I've tried to be supportive of Deshawan by saying he's much better with Gil, but between his running of his mouth in last years playoffs, his lack of defense for the majority of games, taking away Young's minutes, and his overall suckiness have really worn me out. Finally fire this whole entire coaching staff with the exception of Hoopla. Ernie should have thrown all of their butts out in the first place, but it now seems like the snake has just regrown its head in the form of Taps. It also has to wearing on EG at this point that Taps is pulling the same EJ stunts and not playing the players he's drafted. Least we wont have to be worrying about Taps here next year. All these events make me hate EJ even more because of the culture and presidence he created here, and he's obviously engrained this mentality on his former assistants. SCREW EDDIE JORDAN AND TAPPSCOTT, ROTATIONS, AND YOUNG PLAYERS NOT PLAYING.

Not only that, but according to Ivan, Wes Unseld Jr. is going to be the next coach. Because we all know how well having Wes Unseld as the GM went. :eyeroll:
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

For all we know Unseld Jr. could be a great coach. I'm not saying he will be but I'm not going to judge him based on his fathers track record.
And to do so would be idiotic.
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

For all we know you or I could be a great coach, too.
These guys are more qualified than you, I, or Wes Jr.

If the Wizards hire Unseld Jr. then Micheal Jordan's assessment of this being a mom-and-pop run organization are indeed true.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Let me as a Sixers fan give you all sympathy and some hugs. Dealing with bad coaching on a daily basis is something I would not wish even on AL-Qaeda. And bad coaching indeed is what's happening with the Wizards. Poor rotations on the perimeter led to alot of easy buckets for the Philadelphia 76ers. But offensively, I thought the Wizards were far worse then their defense.
They did not move the ball side-to-side. They did not try to score the ball. They didn't even use their best 3pt shooters. Nick Young, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison with Andray Blatche are very talented offensive players. Even if the Wizards are small(and always have been). That offensive lineup of 4 guys should very easily score 90 a game.
PG-Mike James
SG-Nick Young
SF-Caron Butler
PF-Antawn Jamison
C-Andray Blatche
It's not going to stop anybody, and at this point nothing probably would on the Wizards squad. But you could at least fathom to watch the games with such an explosive lineup.

The thing that gets me though, is if they did something wrong in practice and needed to be disciplined, why start McGee and why play Young in the 2nd quarter?
Yeah, this is some of the weirdest rotation planning I've ever seen- who takes a raw 20 year old kid, decides he's only good enough to play 5 minutes a game, and then starts him against the Howards and Rasheed Wallaces of the league just so he can get embarrassed? Maybe they think they're motivating him some way, but talented players have been permanently ruined and run out of the league by getting their confidence shot like that.
I didn't see this game, but my impression of the Celtics game was not that they weren't playing hard, but that no one really had an idea of what their responsibilities were on the court. I had that sense the whole time Eddie Jordan was here, that aside from certain designated shot chuckers, that most of the team was a little confused about their role. But now it literally looks like they have no clue whatsoever and are really tentative rather than just lazy.
Of course the veterans calling out their teammates publicly would seem to disagree.

We saw Daniels get huge minutes right before he was traded. Maybe the organization's plan is to play the vets until they are able to trade them. Etan looks like a lost cause but Songaila has raised his value and so will Mike James if he keeps scoring like he did against Philly. My guess is they're going to play Stevenson until he puts enough decent games together that somebody will take him.
If that is the case, Jamison must not be in on it since he keeps running his mouth about the younger players. But hopefully Grunfeld and Tapscott are in cahoots to get these vets outta here.

I will never trust the decission make on behalf of this team as long as Abe still owns it.
Please God, not EUJr. He may end up being a decent coach. Just don't let it happen here. We need a clean break from Abe decisions.
