Vikings @ Cards 3pm

Post#1 » by hermes » Thu Dec 11, 2008 6:24 pm

Another big game

Cards are good at home, passing game is prolific, running game not so much
which is good, because the Williams Wall might not play
i think that the run d should be able to hold its own fairly well, and if the cards dramatically change their offensive game plan and run it a lot, that could be good, since passing is their strength

Gus is out, Jackson is in

hopefully T-Jax can pick up where he left off last week, the short accurate throws to chester, shiancoe, rice, wade

but the big one is AP, he needs to have the ball in his hands A LOT, and if we're making the playoffs, he's carrying us there

so give it to him

GO VIKINGS

I expect the Wall to play, but I that's just a guess.
Couple of stats I looked up on the Cardinals. They've given up 27 passing TD's, more than anyone in the NFL. They also are the worst running team in the NFL, I'm guessing they run it about 10 times the entire game.

i think we'll be able to stop the run fairly well, Wall or not

they are going to load up to stop AP, so its on Jackson to exploit the secondary, which i think has a lot of interceptions on the year

anyway this game got a whole lot bigger, with the bears win

freaking saints

The Wall is officially safe for the next 2 games, which is huge.

the case will not even go to court until the off-season, the Wall is fine. We don't need to worry about them running either, and we should be able to go straight through their defense. As long as we don't pull the bs we did the first two games of the season where TJack only ran 6 total plays and teams completely figured him out, we should be fine. I think Shincoe will be the key to our victory Sunday. That and the play of Sapp and McCauley against Breston. We know Griffin is going to get burned, so hopefully Madeau is helping him, and not Sharper. Sharper is done, Tyrell Johnson will be starting for us next year.

We also should be able to get pressure on Warner, since their O-line is sub par. The key when getting to Warner is to hit him a lot. He has the same issues of ball security as Culpepper has. If we get in his face, and hit him he will fumble.
RIP Jared Jeffries. Gone but never forgotten...2006-2012

holy cow, what a game

first kudos to the vikings fans at the game, guess i should have expected such a large number of them to be in arizona at this time of year

jackson was great

AP=beast
chester- huge on this team
defense got after warner, didn't allow big plays (expect for the first TD)
shut down the 2 big WR's

we played our game, jumped on top of them early, great defense to hold them down, and solid running game to wear them out

can't ask for more than that, we control our destiny now, division wise

If the Vikings win out, they've got a pretty good shot at a bye.

Either NYG or CAR would have to lose their next two games for the Vikings to get a bye. NYG and CAR play eachother next week at Giant's Stadium. CAR is @ NO week 17. A Bye is certainly possible, but I think 3rd is more likely, even at 11-5.

New Orleans is 6-1 at home, so that's no push over. If the Giants lose to Carolina and the Vikings beat Atlanta, that means the Vikings control their own destiny as far as getting the bye. If the Vikings go 11-5, I think they get it.
