Top five in power rankings =/= best team in the league. Skins were squeaking out some close ones and had a couple embarrassing losses.

I think the most sensible explanation is the absolutely harrowing schedule the 'Skins faced from 6-2 to 7-6. That's why I want to know exactly what happened in this Bengals game. It just doesn't mesh with anything. This was Washington's game to take, and they had every reason not to take it for granted. Now they're cooked.
How about Cincy beating JAX/WSH and tying PHI?

Re: Cowboys: Most 'dysfunctional' team in the NFL?
Another thing I noticed that they try to do to the Cowboys is massively overrate the talent level on the team. They love calling them the most talented team in the league, or one of the most talented teams ever so they can bash them after every bad game and blame it on chemistry and locker room strife and not flaws in the roster, or terrible coaching.

No way can you assign that label to a team that is likely to make the playoffs. They manufacture a lot of needless drama, but other than TO being TO the rest of that team seems to genuinely like one another and play hard for each other--now that Pacman is gone. They get more press about their travails, but that is 100% by Jerry Jones' design.
Oakland takes this title and it's not even a competition. Cutting Deangelo Hall 8 weeks into a $40M deal. Signing every free agent WR that nobody else wanted for good reason. Drawing out the firing of Lane Kiffin for weeks, thus stymying the development of the franchise QB who can barely complete 50% of his passes. Running only one play out of all sorts of different formations, thus telegraphing to the defense exactly what you're doing. Running a fake FG where DateRapeAKowski turns into a scat back. Benching Mike Huff a week after he leads a fiery players-only meeting about defensive responsibility.
I don't think Washington is "dysfunctional", per se. I think what Gilbert said is right--teams figured out Jim Zorn and he hasn't yet figured out what to do about that. They are heavily reliant on a lot of notoriously streaky/fragile guys (Moss, Springs, Samuels, even Portis to some extent). Cleveland is a lot more dysfunctional than them or Dallas. Ditto Jacksonville, where they have what I've heard from multiple people is the quietest, least friend-laden locker room in the NFL, united only in their contempt for Jack Del Rio.

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Oakland, on and off and the same goes with Detroit, IMO.
The Raiders & Lions need to completely clean house, ownership all the way down.....

I liked how Owens reacted to Witten's comments, it was pretty obvious he was lying through his teeth. Did he cite Werder''s "lack of unprofessionalism" or "lack of professionalism"? Doubt it was the latter since Owens is a model for "unprofessionalism".

Really? I have them losing to Baltimore and Philly. 9-7 won't cut it as a wildcard in either conference this year.

OK, have to give you this one.

Again, I'd blame the schedule more than anything. Sure, teams could've figured out Jim Zorn's offence... or it could be the fact that no one scores on the Steelers or Ravens anyway.

I'm glad TO called out Werder. That guy should start covering the Lions if he wants to keep making **** up to cause trouble. This whole situation with TO is another reason for me to ignore everything BSPN does.

Rooster--Janikowski was busted with mass quantities of GhB a few years back, the date rape drug.

No, it's just that they're the most publisized team in the NFL. It works to their advantage (ridiculous number of Pro Bowlers last year) and against them (this situation).

That sucks.
Doesn't change that the now 9-6 Cowboys (as I called) are heading into a highly hostile Philly next week.

Easily yes. Any team with Terrel Owens on it either is or will soon be!
