Re: Official Fantasy Football Thread
I'm in the championship game, despite having the first pick and taking Brady, and dropping DeAngelo Williams after about 4 games.
This format is interesting. With 16 teams, IDPs, the unusual scoring (PPR/return yards/big bonuses/heavy weighting of QB production), and small bench relative to the starting line-up, it rewards active management.
I was able to cash in on a few later round picks, like Leon Washington (11th round, but is the 7th ranked RB in this format) and Eddie Royal (15th round, but is the 5th ranked WR in this format).
Also actively managed my IDPs, and was able to take advantage when teams had to drop guys in order to make bye-week fill-ins at other positions.
Dat2U needs only 12 points or so from McNabb and Cribbs on MNF to beat LyricalRico and come out of the other bracket.
Unfortunately, I'll be knocked out of the semifinals of my money league unless Akers has a huge (11+ point) game. Not impossible but unlikely.

^ Yeah, I like this format because everybody has a chance. It's not reliant on you getting one of the top 5 running backs and you're also not totally dead if you have a catasrophic injury. You can also find decent FA pickups since the benches aren't all that deep.
I wonder if it's too late to change the scoring so that I can beat Dat...

I'd like to thank Justin Miller & J.J. Arrington for my success this week.
Looks like I'm back in the Championship Game for the 2nd year in a row. Hopefully I can win it this time.

Re: Official Fantasy Football Thread
Congratulations to Dat2U and thanks to Lyrical Rico for running the league again.
Lost both my championship games, but fantasy football has served as a welcome distraction from the woes of the real teams that I root for, all of which have had/are having historically bad seasons: Washington Wizards, Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Lions.

Great league, everybody. It seemed that just about everybody was reasonably active in managing their teams. Congrats to Dat for winning the title. Until next year!

Re: Official Fantasy Football Thread
Great league guys and thanks!
It's my first fantasy football championship and hopefully not my last. I lost two championship games last year and lost another one this year. I've got one more next week so hopefully I can get two under my belt.
So far in my career I've been in 8 different leagues in three years. Made it to 6 championship games. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this. I may try for some big money leagues next year.

You get to title games 75% of the time? I was in 7 leagues this year alone, only made the playoffs in 3, and had zero title appearances.

My trademark in FF is starting out terrible, making some key waiver pickups and finishing strong to either just miss the playoffs or barely make it as fodder for the #1 seed.

Bumping. Calling Lyrical Rico. Are you going to reactivate the Wizfans league or start a new one? Thanks,
